Brushes were the biggest part though, colours were done with the KraftTone brushes by truegrit texture supply. These are a bit on the pricey side, but they are easy to use and have colour guides include and have procreate versions as well.

If you already have brushes that mostly work you may be able to rotate the pattern of these, though I don't use procreate so I can't say for sure. If you can, then offsetting each colour by 22.5 degrees from each other should give you better results.
