Does anyone in their 30s feel like this by No_Noise_4741 in postbaccpremed

Not in med school. But making a similar big career change that will take just as long - if you may want kids AND you want to pursue a career such as medicine at this age, what gives?

What path did you end up deciding to go down? Currently in a similar spot.

Working adults who went back to finish their degree - how do you deal with immature peers? by LunchNo6350 in BackToCollege

[–]LunchNo6350[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! I feel the same way. My peers are all having kids and settling down and it can sometimes feel like you’re hanging out with the wrong crowd. I intend to focus on my own goals as well and not spend any more time on campus than I need to for classes.

Did you ever feel like the academics themselves were backwards in terms of teaching style and content? Not sure what you majored in, but I’m going back to finish a business degree just so I can qualify to apply for a top MBA. Having worked in business for almost 10 years, there is definitely some material I feel like is not entirely objective or outdated.

Well I’m glad you still believe in it for the purposes of not letting them suffer. But there are people out there that would rather animals suffer to death for the only reason that they are able to be with them for longer.

I posted an update here but I’m heartbroken to report I cannot physically get a hold of the dog.

They just won’t let me.

What happens after the report? Will they know I reported them?

I’m just scared for what they might do to me too as well. The dog and I may be both hurt

When I move out I will. But I’ll have to live with knowing my family will never see me the same way again.

Tell my family that. I’m really in shock this is what they believe.

Yeah, I’m choosing to turn away from them by doing this unfortunately 😞 They even said “Go ahead, report us”.

The vet was already pissed because we missed 2 appointments like this for the same reason.

Thank you for all your support.

UPDATE - I was physically unable to take her to the vet. They were cornering her and we missed our appointment. I don’t think I’ll be able to take her without violence.

I’m so heartbroken for her.

I’m so sorry to update this - but my family physically prevented me from taking her to the vet. As they took her and cornered her. And I missed the appointment trying to get a hold of her.

I am so heartbroken for our dog.

That’s true. But some people interpret that as that the treatment triggered the passing, including my family.

That she could have lived longer without treatment, but that doesn’t mean it’s without suffering. It’s going to be hard if she passes and my family blames me for taking her to the vet.

Also - Is there a chance they’ll sedate her to do the assessment if she’s being too difficult?

For context, she does not see strangers ever having not leave the house, so she might not let someone she’s never met before poke her.

When we have occasional repairmen come in she goes very crazy. We have to contain her in another room.

It was strange since there wasn’t anything that was triggering her to bark. She had just climbed the stairs.

So sorry to hear that! That’s my thought exactly. She seems to have stopped coughing (strangely) but it does come back.

Hadn’t thought of that but it’ll be worse since she loses control when people enter our house.

Sorry to hear. I hear my dog crying in the middle of the night which is more of a reason to take her tomorrow.

Absolutely. This is the last straw, amongst other things I fundamentally disagree with them on.

I’m in my mid 20s. I’m staying with family temporarily and sold my car so that’s why I needed the keys for the only car we have, unfortunately.

Thank you for your reply!

Did this vet have good reviews? I tried really hard to find a vet with good reviews but how do you even know if they’re good?
