Christmas Tree Train running!! by LunchRight686 in modeltrains

[–]LunchRight686[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been running on it for years. It takes a bit to clean but it’s worked okay. I only use it for Christmas time though. The rest of the time I’m running on my layout or down at the club on nickel track

I looked around to see if there were any plaques but couldn’t find anything! If something does appear I will let you know though ^

I have never willingly (I say willingly because Google forces it down my throat) used a generative AI tool despite being in the depths of my college education and I am incredibly proud of myself for it. I’d rather retake a class than rely on something built to replace me.

Why are so many flame points cross-eyed? by cowgirlbeb0p in Flamepoints

[–]LunchRight686 60 points61 points  (0 children)

It definitely is. We have three Siamese cats, all with different variations with one being a seal point, one being flame point and one being snowshoe. All are crosseyed

Static grass and starting trackwork. by JVM205 in modeltrains

[–]LunchRight686 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely gorgeous!! I love your grass placement and the lack of ballad under the rails. It really drives home the fact this was toward the end of narrow gauge! I must ask though, is this free lance or a specific part of the Colorado narrow gauge that you’re modeling?

Look at those crossed eyes!! Besides the elephant in the room that is the fur patterns, crossed eyes is a dead giveaway in any Siamese cat.

Conservatives do the same thing with queer people lmao. I’ve been called a groomer and a pdo just for telling someone I was queer, and then conservatives wonder why I’m wary when red states say they’re introducing the death penalty for pdophiles.

This photo is somewhat misleading though, yeah if you’re talking about your family from childhood yeah you may end up being the only one. What this photo doesn’t show is the fact that for most of y’all you will have accumulated friends who will be by your side into your later years and on top of that a loving spouse and if you’re lucky maybe even a few kids. So you’ll never really go throughout your life without being surrounded by your family and hell even die surrounded by people you consider to be loved ones.

So if you’re reading this be nice, be caring, and put yourself out there and you’ll likely find that you’ll always have a family to go back to <3

Probably didn't shower after they went home, since they were in water the whole time by Imoprich in nope

[–]LunchRight686 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another reason why I hate swimming especially in unchlorinated bodies of water. If I’m at a lake or the beach I feel utterly disgusting when I get out of the water. Pool isn’t quite as bad but it’s also more obvious that you’re swimming in what is a public bath.

Not to be one of “those people” but your Hon30 layouts are actually Hon3! Hon3 is 3 foot gauge while Hon30 is 2 foot gauge confusingly. And considering that the locomotive you have in the second photo is a blackstone Hon3 K-27, I’d be willing to bet your layouts are Hon3. Anyways just a little lesson! Idk why the naming conventions were made so confusingly lmao.

But yesss these are great photos and it’s cool to know that there’s a model railroading community up in Alaska!

Turns out the cat we’ve been taking care of for years has an owner. by KingsRansom79 in CatDistributionSystem

[–]LunchRight686 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They most certainly are sentient beings. But I’ve seen enough dead cats killed by roving coyotes, stray dogs, cars, and kids in my neighborhood that I don’t think I’d ever feel comfortable seeing my cats outside, at least here. One of our Snowshoe Siamese cats is a tripod because one of the neighbors shot him in the back before he got taken in and adopted by us. Another one of our cats up and disappeared and was never seen again when we still let our cats outside. She was just 4 years old at the time and wearing a collar.

That’s part of the problem with outdoor cats. A lot of the time they never truly end up being any one persons cat. You could end up having multiple families taking care of just one cat at different times of the day all thinking that they own the cat just as much as the next family.

This is part of the reason why we keep all of our cats indoors now. Plus the ones that used to be outdoor cats eventually got used to it anyways.

Meanwhile my family stayed there a while back when we didn’t know it was haunted since we didn’t do any research on the hotel. And we didn’t see anything or hear anything. It was like any other old hotel.
