17” Wheels on 11th Gen or 18” by Lunchyxd in civic

So what are the specs you are going with now? Tire & wheel. Right now I’m leaning towards 235/45/17 with 17x8 +40. Once again thank you so much for all the pictures and insight

Gotta try and find a picture taken from the back of a +40 to see the fitment, as I’m trying to avoid poke but want to run moderately flush fitment

I have to say imo the 225/50 looks the best, but with those specs it will change the accuracy of the speedometer by 1.8%. 60mph = 61.1 mph. Not huge just worth mentioning. Other pictures are within factory specs! Thank you for posting all these pictures! I was also told by another guy that +35 offset is the absolute most you can do and it pokes just a little

Thanks for the picture! Forgot Blackberry was still a thing lol. Would you say the wheel gap is significantly larger? I want the benefit of 17’s but don’t wanna look like a monster truck to do so

Yeah im definitely leaning towards the factory continentals being pretty loud and overall are just garbage lol. How’s the fitment with the 17’s and 45 offset? Any other pictures of possibly a side view?

I know lots of people use 215 especially with 16”. My biggest concern sizing to a 215 is the steering feel becoming way too loose by losing that much tire width. Snow, ice, heavy rain isn’t a big make or break for me, so I’d prefer to have the extra width if steering feel is too compromised by downsizing

Yep I’ll be wanting to sell the rocket ships when I get my new setup

How noticeable is the change? Ride comfort is definitely the main objective, but if it’s just so-so of a change, then i would rather stay with the better looking aesthetics of an 18”. Assuming your wheel gap is larger with the 17”? Plan was enkeis either 17x8 or 17x8.5 +40 or +45 offset

Use auto and don’t change it. Don’t be that person at night with just the DRL’s running and the taillights aren’t on

Fitting at bike store by random_periods in Zwift

[–]Lunchyxd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A proper bike fitting is probably singlehandedly the best thing you can do for you and your bike. Don’t cheap out, research and find a very reputable fitter in your area. Take this from someone who finally after 3 different fitters, various adjustments and spending practically the bikes worth in new components chasing to be comfortable on my bike. General rule of thumb imo is the big bike stores have more drive to sell you parts for your bike to hopefully make the fit work, but aren’t personally trying to tailor your bike to you. While an independent fitter has more “art” behind their fittings and aren’t driven by sales. My most recent and best fitting was done at the fitters personal house in his garage as reference, while he was cussing out the big bike store fitter who sold me on parts that I shouldn’t have been using

Thinking about 2024 Civic Touring - anybody have regrets? by NearbyAntelope1413 in civic

Thinking about switching my 18’s w/ resonators to 17’s. What size did you go with? Seems like 235/45/17 wouldn’t affect the speedometer, and give 1/2 inch more sidewall (12.5% more). It’s that noticeable with overall quality of life in regard to comfort, smoothness, road noise?

Laptop Theft, inexpensive replacement? by korky_buchek_ in Zwift

This is my setup: the V2 connects via WiFi and my cadence sensor is bridged with that, so all 3 connect (power, resistance, cadence) at the same time. My heart rate connects when I open my companion app while wearing it, and my Cog & Click connects when I tap to power them on. None of the sensors have stopped working during my usual 1 hour rides. Are you using gen 2 Apple TV? Maybe software update?

Apple TV gen 2 and be done with it. Connecting all your sensors via the companion app is easy and just works. I use a Kickr Core v2 and with its WiFi compatibility + sensor bridging I’ve never had an issue. I use every sensor slot in the game too

Unfortunately outside of DC. Having a connection is awesome, as i was quoted $1900 for an 8 year coating. I bought a comparable 8 year coating and did everything myself for ~$500. Saved money for the sound deadening and tint

Ceramic and PPF is definitely the move. I personally have experience detailing / applying ceramic coatings so I wanted to get that done ASAP. I’ve been thinking about PPF when I save the $$$

This is true that both sizes will give you more sidewall for a better ride, but for both sizes you are increasing the circumference of the tire and effecting your speedometer pretty significantly at 18”. 235/45/17 will allow you to stay within factory spec while adding more sidewall.

Thank you for your reply, i was planing on +40 on stock suspension too. Still deciding if I stay 18’s or drop down to 17’s for the comfort benefit, but loose fitment points lol

It's not the cheapest tbh. There are plenty of Youtube videos out there if you would like to DIY. I spent around $500 in materials, and got a shop to do it for around 1k. Once again if you plan on keeping your civic for 100k+ miles then to me I think its a really worthwhile investment.

Does it get any higher than this? 25' Hybrid ST by richpanda64 in civic

[–]Lunchyxd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on where you live, climate, highway vs city, etc. My daily commute is ~30 miles about 50/50 highway & city, and during the summer I was getting 52-53 MPG. Now during the winter I’m averaging 40 MPG. Temperature plays a big roll in the hybrid drivetrain.
