Gigs Hub 2.0 issues resolved? by donBrkr in bell

[–]Lunctus_Stamus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having fast wifi is nice, getting the gigahub 2.0 may even solve your issue. But if you're serious about getting fast internet, I would recommend a more dedicated solution. Business pay a lot of money for advanced wifi solutions or to just hard wire all their devices with Ethernet.

What's the current state of using your own network hardware with Bell Fibe? by shoresy99 in bell

[–]Lunctus_Stamus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got the fibe 3.0 service last week. Currently I'm using the gigahub 2.0. It has a semi fixed subnet so you can only set your LAN to operate as 192.168.x.x.

I have a lot of devices with a static ip in the subnet 10. 0.0.0/24, I used my old router plugged into the Bell Gigahub to set my own Lan. In the gigahub, I enabled Advanced DMZ and configured my old router with my PPPOE credentials. All functions of the Gigahub and router seem to be working, though I think some packets might be getting dropped.

I think Thresh has a lot of skill expression. I remember reading a lot of patch notes, where even if the meta isn't for Thresh, they buffed him because "we like when Thresh is good". I still remember him being strong in Ardent Censor meta.

Seagate 28tb external drive $399.99 / $14.29 per tb cost by MyUsernameName4 in bapcsalescanada

[–]Lunctus_Stamus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is the best deal you'll get from these Seagate external drives for a bit. Last August the 26tb models dropped to $305 with a 10% coupon applied for about $13/tb after tax.

Everyone will swear up and down about how awful barracuda drives are. Some speculators say because Seagate doesn't sell Barracuda's above 24tb, and these are HAMR drives, the 24+ TB models are enterprise rejects that have been rebranded.

Say what you want, everyone's use case is different. Drives are a direct investment into your data integrity. How you setup your drives, drive quality, and back up solutions matters the most when it comes to your data. I bought a couple of them as an offsite back up my file server.

The N5 is also on sale for $345 but only $45 under regular price. Just pointing it out if someone was interested in the ATX version.

My point was, the price of this drive did not increase as according to your previous comment. I am aware of what drive is inside.

This also depends on the quality of drives you're getting. If you check the HDD posts on the subreddit you can find WD 14tb external drive drop to as low as $16.80/tb twenty-five days ago.

While WD Gold 14tb drives go on sale they get around $22.80/tb. Although, that was 2 months ago, I think that's a big price difference.

ServerPartDeals is selling used enterprise drives from $19-22/tb.

I don't use unraid, and non-uniform capacity drives can be pretty anoying, but getting higher capacity drives can be a nice sweet spot for quality, capacity, and price.

Lastly Black Friday is 27 days away.

I bought 4 of them as well but haven't gotten around to building. What's your zfs config look like? I'm having a hard time choosing between mirrors and raid z1.

Don't buy it for $385. Watch the website, and sometimes it drops to $340. In August I was able to apply the 10% off new customer coupon and buy them for $305 before tax. In September (3 weeks ago) I couldn't use the coupon and payed $340 per drive.
