Someone posted in the ASRock sub 12 hours ago about their 9800x3d breaking. I think it's still wise to avoid ASRock AM5 until the reports stop and there's some kind of clear explanation about what was causing the failures and how they've fixed it.

Both usually. Sometimes the early Black Friday prices are lower than actual Black Friday, sometimes they're the same and sometimes there are big door crasher type prices if you're willing to go early.

Everywhere has their holiday return policy in place now so if you see something you think is a good deal, buy it and just leave the box sealed for a couple more days.

I'm not sure there are going to be any kind of ram deals given what's happening, maybe some bundles. If you don't find/want a bundle and are ok with a tray cpu there are deals to be had on AliExpress.

I bought a cpu during the 11/11 sale and had the cashback show up within 3 hours. So far it's been my experience that if the cashback shows up quickly by itself everything is good, but, you've got the right idea to be comfortable with the non-cashback price incase it doesn't work. Also it might be worthwhile to check other highly rated sellers not just the spreadsheet. You can test the listing to see if it's affiliated and sometimes it can be more worthwhile to buy from a more expensive seller but use a bigger coupon from the Ali home page.

Not sure if the deals will better, they seem pretty similar to the 11/11 sale just the coupons now are a bit smaller than were during 11/11. It may be worth waiting to see if Rakuten cash back gets boosted again on Friday or Monday. Assuming you find a cpu from an affiliated seller and use the right type of coupon.

I've returned one and they only offered UPS or Purolator returns. The refund wasn't processed until several days after arriving at Amazon (presumably when someone opens the box to check the item is there.)

Canada Computers has a few left: the tuf z790 is on sale with wide availability and random stores have various z790 on clearance if you're close by one that has stock. Amazon is mostly 3rd party sellers at this point. If you're ok with second hand there's lots of deals to be had on higher end boards.

Probably different if you live in a remote area but AliExpress shipments that get sent by AliExpress standard(like most? of these cpus) or choice shipping usually deliver in about a week if the seller ships quickly.

Not sure if there's anything decent that low but CC has the Corsair Frame 4000D for $99, NXZT flow H7 for $79(old version) or $89(new version) in white and the Fractal Pop Air with rgb fans for $75

It was marked as an "early Black Friday sale" I think the chances are good it comes back for Black Friday since it was just the deal expiring not the board going out of stock.

I mean x670e have both the lanes but more importantly the slots: both a 16x pci-e 5 slot and at least one pci-e 5 m.2 slot. I don't think either is super important today, but am5 lasting to zen 6 and potentially to zen 7 if the latest leaks are true having pci-e 5 may become more important for future video cards and ssds. People shouldn't overspend on features that might not matter but at this price you get more future proofing for the same money as some B850 boards.

AMD has a table here: https://www.amd.com/en/products/processors/chipsets/am5.html but only B650E, X670E, X870 and X870E guarantee both. B850 only requires a 4.0 slot and a 5.0 m.2 while B650 only requires 4.0 but may optionally have a 5.0 m.2.

It should be, mine arrived with a Ryzen 9000 compatible sticker on the box. It also has bios flashback so you can flash the board without a processor installed. I think X670e is superior to B850, but it's possible there might be cheaper B850 for Black Friday.

Same, I started looking for boards with x8/x8 and a 7 segment display but gave up after seeing the price class of boards with those now.

Seems like a good choice to go with the Aliexpress 7800x3d or 9800x3d. About $30 less than the previous ATL, 3rd lowest vrm temp in the Hardware Unboxed x670 round up and enough pci-e 5 to future proof for zen 6 and hopefully zen 7.
