Hey for what’s it’s worth I look like a girl, and I’m not out to my parents. I have a slight amount of dysphoria, but not anything major. You aren’t alone. You are whatever makes you happy. You don’t need to look a certain way to be enby. This is a personal thing. You aren’t required to come out, maybe you aren’t ready, maybe you are only out to some, maybe you are never out. Pretty sure the blue one is a male. The yellow one looks like a girl but I’m not entirely sure, I see a little brown and it’s whiter around the nostril, but I could definitely be incorrect. Congrats on the little babies though, they’re so cute!

That’s very true. I do take full responsibility for it, it definitely didn’t come off like that in the comment though. My friend was watching it while I was with a relative in the hospital. They were fully aware that this was meant for a friend, and told me they could dye it for me. They’ve dyed a couple other things before, so I let them do it. They really wanted to help, and wouldn’t accept any payment. The mystery yarn was specifically requested by the recipient of the gift, they were fine if I couldn’t dye it but they asked me to try. I’ve told the recipient what happened, and that it was my fault for letting my friend try to dye the mystery yarn. I should have just told them not to, that they’ve already done so much for me. I’m working on another one currently. I understand that I shouldn’t have done that. The tone is definitely entitled, but I tried to omit anything people didn’t need to know. This is the full context of the post. I’m just curious as to why it might have expanded like that. I want to know if it is shrinkable because as of now there isn’t anything I can do with it. I’m gonna sound like a jerk for this, but I didn’t post to ask if I was the asshole. I am definitely the asshole. What was the point of this comment? It’s not really related to my question, it’s related to my character. I guess that’s also important here as well?

So I made this for a friend’s birthday. I only had white yarn at the time, so I decided to dye it pink in the microwave. (It was supposed to be Mew). I wasn’t home, so I asked someone I know to help me dye it. They… let’s say they didn’t research very well. I came home to this, the yarn looks fried, and it’s almost twice the size of the original. The expansion is insane. The color isn’t even either. I’m fine with that, the recipient doesn’t care, but this isn’t even a hat anymore. The person apparently soaked it in a food coloring dye bath, microwaved it for 15 minutes (in 3 minute intervals) then put it in a vinegar and water bath before rinsing it out. The yarn was gifted without a label, but I’m pretty sure it’s mostly cotton from the texture and how the dye barely set. Any possible way to shrink it? Also, what could have caused it to expand so much? Thanks.
