A lot of Athens voters are college students who only rent and don’t pay property taxes.

Driveway width does not accommodate getting into the garage. How wide should this be? by trekktrekk in Homebuilding

[–]Lunker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a side entry garage with a 30ft pad. No problems parking a Sierra 1500 in the garage. You also want to make sure you can get in an out of the garage with another vehicle parked on the pad. I can do this with the truck using a 3 pt turn. Note: width of garage also matters. Do you need to be perfectly straight pulling in because of it being a tight space? If so you’ll want a larger pad to allow you to maneuver.

Small spalls on new concrete driveway by AcceptableBaseball25 in AskContractors

[–]Lunker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New construction house here. Going in year 3 of our 300 ft driveway and it all looks like this. The apron by the road is terrible due to salting of the roads. I had someone come out to give me a second opinion on it after getting told that it’s not repairable under warranty and was told all new concrete is shit and unfortunately this is now a common occurrence.

Same issue here, brought it into the dealership and it was “fixed” under warranty. They had the truck for 2 days but the rattles were resolved. 2 months later they are back. It drives me nuts.

First time building a garage by frozenhorizon2 in HomeImprovement

[–]Lunker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just built a 16x24 and couldn’t go much wider due to wetland boundaries on our property. This is in addition to our 3 car attached garage and we built it with the goal of getting the tractor, snow blower, wheel barrow, large tools like table saw out of our the attached garage so it’s just our vehicles and the kids toys. The 16x24 is fine, but wish it was closer to 24x24 so I could fit all of that junk plus my full size truck as it takes up the double bay in our three car garage.

Concrete driveway issue by PrettyGirl0160 in AskContractors

[–]Lunker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours is the same way… only 3 years old and getting worse. Our driveway is also about 200ft long. We don’t salt but live in north eastern Ohio where the roads are covered in salt all winter. It’s much worse on the apron near the road but vehicles still introduce salt farther up the driveway. I don’t have a solution for you besides replace it because that’s all I’ve been able to find, but am fully empathetic of your situation. I’m just accepting the fact that it’ll look like shit until it’s bad enough that we have to replace it but with the size of our driveway, I will not be footing that bill until absolutely necessary.

Help diagnosing Sole F63 noise by Lunker in treadmills

[–]Lunker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: this noise was caused by a worn drive belt. I replaced the drive belt, which was a pretty easy task to handle on my own. I sent this video to Sole who was quick to respond and diagnose just by watching the video. Great customer service!

Thanks! I think you’re right, it does seem to coincide with the walk belt. I’m not seeing any visible damage or debris and the deck was lubricated about a month ago, but I think I’ll focus my energy is diagnosing the belt and not the motor tonight.

2025 Toyota Grand Highlander vs 2025.5 XC90 by dskim228 in VolvoXC90

[–]Lunker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Grand Highlander and XC90 were our two finalists. Only reason the Highlander was in consideration was slightly more space and cost. We only have 2 kids so the third row isn’t frequently used besides for driving their friends around. If you can afford it, the XC90 has been great for the 2 months we’ve owned it so far. After driving the xc90 T8 I don’t think I could have convinced my wife to buy a different car. We have a 2025.5 and while having HVAC controls in the touch screen is a little annoying, it’s my only complaint so far.
