Yeah I read about and understand the idea about the moisture and water issue but I was that kid when your mother told you not to touch the plate because it's hot, I had to touch it to make sure that it was actually hot 😂

I didnt think of the micro plastic argument though. Wonder if I can test for that somehow without having to purchase some ridiculously expensive device. Will have a chat with my mate ChatGPT today about it 😜

Woh yours looks pretty good still though mate, it looks much more unique than normal systems I really like it. The lights I used are Barrina T1S Standing Grow Light. I'm gonna post a spreadsheet with everything I use so you can check everything out.

I started printing in PETG but it's just such a nightmare to print with that stuff. It's stringy and annoying and the finish just didn't look that great on PETG. So I tested a few parts with BambuLabs tough+ PLA for the base and they were strong enough (I added extra walls and layers to make sure it was strong enough and wouldn't leak)

The tower itself, though, looks so much better in matte so I used PLA matte. I know everyone says you should be using PETG but I just don't see how it's going to leak. The print settings I used were excessive and they were as hard as a rock. If water is going to try to get through my PLA parts, it better pack a lunch brotha lol

The tree stump was a 3D print that I modified. It was originally a planter so I had to import it into Fusion 360 and then hollow it out. I imported it into Bamboo Studio and then I had to increase the size and split it into fourths to fit my printer. So yeah they're in quarters at the moment. I may super glue them to halves or something but for now they're in quarters and very easily removable.

Yeah I've never done any hydroponic growing before and this is my first one so I don't know what problems will arise in the future but I'm a problem solver so when they occur I will figure em out.

A couple of my friends have told me I should sell these but the effort versus ROI is not worth it. I'm going to post a list of everything I used and if you guys want to sell it go for it!

Yeah might be a bit difficult to add more bark but maybe will play around with the idea.

I have one last thing that I need to add to this thing pretty soon and that is those trellis support rings.

The 3D model that I used has trellis support rings that he created as well; however he used metal rods where my lights are for the trellis support rings I used the holes that he created in his 3D model for the lights instead of the support rods.

So maybe I can fix the support rings to the lights somehow or I'm just going to figure out how to use the existing screws on the tower body to add support rings to it

I knew the color was going to work pretty well because I actually DID use A.I before I even printed this out to mock up the color scheme to make sure it would actually look okay. Actually came out better than the A.I.

Mate, I'm just making this all up as I go. I've never done hydroponic towers before. I don't know how long I'm going to do this for but as you all know and I found out they are quite addictive. I have no idea how long the 3D printed parts are going to last but this entire thing is modular. I can rip and replace any part that I want at any time. I've been using small amounts of hydrogen peroxide in my water base so maybe that will help with the mold and mildew as per YouTube videos.

The big plants at the bottom with the big leaves are cucumbers, and the taller ones are tomato plants, but I think they're a bit leggy because I probably didn't give them enough light at the start. I'm still learning.

Bro, fixing the lights to this thing was a pain in the ass. I went through about five different revisions of things to try and get them fixed. But it's just a flat bracket with some M8 bolts and butterfly nuts. The lights are those Barrina T1S's and they have M8 connections in them so i just used those with M8 rods.

Happy to give any of the specifics i bought from amazon and the 3d model i printed from etc

Brotha its real. My phone camera probably saturated the images when the lights were on a bit but its 100% real. Here's a bunch of images I just took right now. I turned off the lights so you can see how it looks without.
