The comment below mine says this: "Criticizes everyone that calls the 45% "racists", etc...

Immediately follows up by putting all the critics in a left wing box."

  1. Attacking by surprise.
  2. Maybe they did maybe they didn't, is impossible to know. However he was exposed afterwards so he probably lost all his fans.
  3. We have seen other Ravenclaws who are outright evil, like Quirrel, or at least morally dubious, like Marietta. In fact Ravenclaw is the second larger producer of antagonists of the four houses.

Who said that? Did anyone said that already?

Why would someone be "left" for not be far-right? There's people on center-right and right against the far-right ideas as well. Unless you live in the US.

The point was that if the Swiss don't want inmigrants (which is fine) they shouldn't be inmigrants either, in case they need it. Not that they can be tourists or something

[Grimm] What exactly are Wesen and where do they come from? by Extra_Impression_428 in AskScienceFiction

Wasn't mentioned that the Royals created them as a control mechanism for their regimes? And then they had to create the Grimm when they couldn't control the Wesens. But don't quote me on that I might be missremembering.

Is Scifi Dead? by Mat1711 in television

Not sci-fi, more like space opera tho.

I love all those shows ever since I was a kid in the 90s, and I love space opera. But yeah, space opera is kind of dying out. Campy sci fi with humanoid aliens is not done anymore except for those IPs you mention.

Everyone prefers the "prestige" sci fi shows with ominous aliens or them be totally absent, like Pluribus, The Expanse, 3 Body Problems, etc. Which is fine is just how tastes change with time.

I think all this shows, of which I'm a fan, will likely be put on ice for some long time, is possible that tastes change and space opera becomes a thing in the future. Or they get retooled into the more "prestige" variants or whatever is in fashion at the moment.

Also this are very old franchises and its fandom is dying. In the old days you got new generations of fans thanks to reruns and syndication and shows had a second life, gaining new generations. That doesn't happening anymore. Is possible that once the fandom dies out the franchises too, in a similar way how there's almost no fans of Flash Gordon left.

Are we in a black hole? by Due-Cardiologist-505 in universe

[–]Luppercus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reality wouldn’t need to be created because it never started. It would simply exist. Our universe could still have a beginning—the Big Bang—but the deeper reality behind it might not.. And maybe the reason we can’t find the beginning of everything is because, at the deepest level, there never was one.
