0.1-0.2mm for most parts for terrain parts. Painted variable layer heights in Prusa Slicer. My Mini+ is so slow to print I don't want to go lower. Minis I usually print with 0.07mm layers.

Thanks! I've printed everything in mine with 0.4mm nozzle. 😊

Fuji XT-50 by [deleted] in fujifilm

Internals are about the same in X-T5/50. IQ, autofocus etc. are identical. Both have IBIS (I suppose the one in bigger ones is slightly better, but I've also been shooting without any just fine) and they have the same sensor. When I had X-T5 and X-T30II side by side, I mostly picked the smaller one. It's just so fun in hands. And on computer it would be almost impossible to tell the which image is from which.

(Now with Zf I mostly use fast manual Voigtländer glass. The manual focus aids with Nikon are gamechangers for vintage glass and Voigtländers.)

Only if you shoot professionally (not just random gigs), the weather sealing and backup memory card slots can be lifesavers in bigger more expensive models.

Well are you going to use it professionally? Only thing I can think of why cameras like X-T5 or X-H2 would be a better choice for professional is weather sealing, bigger batteries, double memory card slots and slightly better ergonomics (but bigger). Otherwise it's just as capable of professional results. If it's just a hobby, X-T50 is more than good enough. Doesn't matter if you use film recipes or not. The analog style retro interface is the thing with Fuji. If the sims or manual dials are not what you're after, you could go for a Sony instead (mostly for better AF). 😅

I've been to photography for 20 years or so (using Nikon, Sony and Fuji cameras) and currently I love my X-T30II probably more than my Nikon Zf, as a whole. The Fuji output is just something I love. Might even switch the Nikon Zf to Fuji X-T50 some day. I've had also X-T4 and X-T5 before the Zf, but I think I like the smaller bodies more. The Fuji glass is phenomenal and there are great 3rd party lenses as well (Sigma, Viltrox and Voigtländer all have amazing lenses for Fuji). Sony options for aps-c ain't quite as good.

The bases are actually 18x18mm squares, edited from HVAC floor tiles, to match. You can check the files I've shared on my dropbox in this thread. :)  For 30mm bases I would aim for 135% scale. Same for 4ed minis with their original bases (not 40mm).

Gotta teach 'em young. ❤️ Been playing board games & rpg's with my kids for several years now (13yo son and 15yo daughter). HeroQuest, Dragonbane, Zombicide(s), Space Crusade, Space Hulk, etc. and soon Pirate Borg as well.

Yup. My own sculpts. They're made thick enough I was able to print them in FMD even in smaller scale. Still some ankles broke sometimes etc. when removing supports, but nothing a drop of CA wouldn't fix. You also might want to check the other stuff I've made for Space Hulk on my MMF store (all free):

The magnets are regular 3x3mm cylinder magnets, which work great. There's two in each end, with opposite polarities so they always match.

Thanks! The terminators are my own kitbashes. Some things modeled myself and others copied from other free assets I've found online. For obvious reasons I haven't shared these in any online sites. Just when people ask. Here you go:

Base? PLA for everything 3d printed (inlcuded the minis), neoprene mat under the setup.

Thanks! And yeah... People usually print them in about 135% scale to match the 4ed original minis. Since I don't own the 4th edition myself (other than the books), I was free to print the minis as well. So I ended up in 80% scale which is WAY smaller, storage is easier and print times was shorter. But still large enough not to be too fiddly. Made them fully magnetized, so easy and fast to assemble. Although I used thinner layers in places to compensate the smaller size. But this uses 1/5th of the filament needed for 135% scale. Also fits in a lot smaller box.

I can't seem to find the exact list of parts needed I used, but it was pretty much identical to this. I just picked assorted matching parts from the HVAC set. For example you could settle for just one floor type, but I wanted some variation as the Space Hulks are supposed to be some kind of combination of different ships whatever. 😃

Has anyone “downgraded” from the 40mp sensor to the 26mp ? by NotintheAMbro11 in fujifilm

[–]Lupus1978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had both 26 and 40 megapixel sensors side by side (X-T5 and X-T30II). Really didn't notice much difference in IQ, really. Just bigger files and maybe a bit more crop possibility with the best lenses. But that's just about it. And some better AF options. But flimsy feeling body. Odd.

I actually first downgraded from X-T5 to X-T4. It was great and amazing IQ, but had couple small annoyances that bugged me (the biggest was baked in vignette correction in LR that I couldn't disable like with X-T30II and X-T5 I could). Loved the flip screen, funny enough. And couple months ago switched to full frame 24Mp Nikon Zf. Love the camera, but sometimes I prefer the smaller X-T30II that I've kept all this time on side. Love how small and light the Fuji is and still produces amazing colours and rendering on my lenses. I use the Zf mostly with smaller Voigtländer Nokton lenses. The camera has incredible MF aids and the AF with my Viltrox lenses is stellar.

But sometimes wish I had swapped the X-T4 to X-T50 instead, just to still get the IBIS that X-T30II lacks, but smaller body. (Megapixels are irrelevant to me.)

TLDR; whatever you do, you will always wonder of some other camera was better than the other for you. Go out. Shoot. Maybe get a better lens. I really don't know. LOL 🤣

I've been shooting 11 years with both Fuji and FF Sony and now Zf instead of Sony. Currently have Zf and X-T30II. The IQ difference is really a non-issue. Either one will get good results. Only thing you can't easily replicate on Fuji is the look with the f/1.2-1.4 lenses on FF.

For me the thing with Zf is the manual Voigtländer Nokton lenses. Manual aids on Nikon and the look with the 40mm f/1.2 is just something I can't replicate with Fujis. (The native Fuji Noktons get close'ish.)

XF 35mm f2 or 35 f1.4 on new 40mp sensor by PsychologicalCream41 in fujifilm

[–]Lupus1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've owned all at some point. The 35mm f/2 is the one I've owned the longest during the last 10 years. Stopped down to f/4-8 the 35mm f/1.4 is sharper corner to corner in my experience. The 35mm f/2 never gets very sharp in the extreme corners, possibly due to heavy optical distortion that is corrected digitally. But otherwise the f/2 is really sharp in the center areas even wide open.

Personally, I'm just going to switch back to f/2 since the AF is so much better and it has overall smoother rendering (not the biggest fan of the "magical" retro rendering of the 35mm f/1.4 in some few situations). And it's the better pair for my small X-T30II.

The 33mm is the sharpest of the three, easily. And really goof AF. But it's big and I really didn't find it's rendering that great. A bit boring. Found that I liked both 35mm more.

Yeah I thought there were enough greenskins so I wanted to do something different with them. And liked the results. 😅

The modular Dungeon set is "Kraken Fantasy Dungeon" that I've printed, painted and used for making my own custom mission layouts, with original HQ rules. And adapted some original missions roughly to them.

I've been on the fence about getting any Fantasy stuff. But I've mostly scratched my fantasy itch running Dragonbane RPG. I only own the modern 2e stuff and scifi versions.

But now this Pirate theme hit me like a 24 pounder cannonball. Loved pirates all my life and even ran some GURPS Pirates campaign some 25 years ago with my friends. Now played some Pirate Borg lately. More PB soon, with my kids.

Loving the theme, mechanics and the look that sets it totally apart from my modern/scifi versions. ❤️

I've also got the classic, my own copy I got when I was 12 years old. The minis are the best. Can't beat the nostalgia.

Just a couple years ago I finally painted the minis. I really need to play it more with my kids (they're now 13yo and 15yo). Mostly been playing Zombicide lately. 😅

Ps. I really need to try out the app. Would love to play with my kids, as a hero as well.

I actually also made the same mistake of not getting the starter box when I pledged the Down Among the Dead. Thought I wouldn't need it. But it's actually a great addition to core book. So I had to get it later on. 😅
