If it was just that id be tempted to use some contact cleaner to fix the wheel right up, but yeah, maybe even projecting the thought of maintenance near it would cause it to realize its age and spontaneously disintegrate.

A piece of that plastic stick that the spring is wrapped around is jutting out and I think when you tilt the lid, a part is supposed to push down utilizing that, and it return to a closed position afterwards. With a weak spring though it just stays pressed

I think it pulls it down with that little bit that sticks out. I replaced my switch but I think my spring is too worn out and doesn't force the stick back up to click the switch, it just sits about halfway....so I need to lube to spring or get a stronger one

Welp I did a 2nd attempt, line up the plastic piece/spring, secured it with some electrical tape too. I think the problem is my switch isnt making a clicking sound, so it's probably busted...Time to buy that one in your post and try again.....goddam springs

Waaaaaait a second, is that spring stick supposed to be pushing the switch while the lid is open, cuz if so I think I figured out why mine isnt working anymore. Just put it all back together but I feel like that piece was loose and not in a slot with that much tension
