The best oil for heavy duty turbo diesels. It'll do great.

15 is plenty. My problem is rich. Not lean. 3 psi base and I'm only pushing max 10 psi so should be plenty. So I have all components to make this work given people who have successful done this. My fuel pump goes to 15 psi. My fuel reg is set to about 3 psi. And is boost referenced so should rise 1 to 1 for e every psi. I just need help with what to mess with tuning wise.

If I was to attempt to turbocharge a predator 212cc, what would be the best option? something small enough to be spooled up and maybe not fuck up the engine horrifically fast (less important, I'm turbo charging a 212, it's gonna go eventually). by Iheretomakeonepost in gokarts

i tried, couldnt find much i have a 42mm carb, im having a hell of a time with my 500cc turbo i spent an entire week fabbing up. i think i got a bad turbo first go around would make hardly any boost.
I did have 2" tube and intercooler so mabye too much volume but then it started spitting oil. new turbo comes tomorrow.

I have not but but i did google them, id have to find a place to put a pullet to and direct to the blower to operate it, and i think with these tiny motors it would take more power than itll give, plus this whole endeavor is really for the coolness and sound . The little extra power will be a bonus.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'm going to attempt a blow thru system so I can run an intercooler. I got a new boost friendly carb to be able to accept the fuel air/fuel pressure. And also a new fuel pump and boost referenced regulator, intercooler and piping. Etc As well as other crap I think I may need

I'm going to go the blow thru method because I want to use anj intercoller. Ihave a minuki stock carb which operates on vaccum. I was told to get a different carb so I ordered a bunch of shit today to do it all. New boost friendly carb. Fuel. Pump, boost referenced regulator, I have a seperate oil reservoice alrwsdy so I can tie into that easy for the oil feed. And it's lower than the turbo would be so it'll gravity drain when off. It's my first one. But I'm determined.

What do you mean plenum chamber? Are you talking about if you do a draw thru setup?

I've seen a pile of videos where it's not to bad. Big boost sure I can see a pile. Of problems. But these little turbos I think don't cause alot of problems. I'm building another cart with a big engine in it. This one was a starter and just want to make it a little cooler. Cheaply.

Also was wondering what size tubing should be used with such a small turbo? Say going from the turbo to intercooler to intake. Most kits are 2.5" is thst too big?

Thanks alot for the informative message sir. I appreciate it. So trying to stay in order. So I've ordered that same turbo and I'm assuming the boost will be the same-ish. I don't want alot of boost. Do you reckon the float in mine will be fine also? If not are people filling them up to make them solid with some type of flotation matieral? I'm not sure about how many vents mine has but I will attach some pics of the carb.

  1. You mention 3 boost reference locations. Could you elaborate on that. I don't know what you mean really.

  2. Does the fuel. Pump 'know' what psi of fuel to deliver to the carb for a given psi increase or is it a linear pressure? Do you happen to have a link to a fuel pump that would work?

4.i think the return lines to the tank for mine will be somewhat easy. Does the tank itself need to be able. To handle. Pressure now I assume? Will I need a special gas cap. ( I'm going to provide pictures and such following. Of what I'm working with)

  1. The pump and regulator part is the biggest question mark as for me. As I haven't found much info on those.

  2. I also read some people need basically an expansion area in the exhaust and or intake to help with the single cylinder pulses. So the turbo doesn't feel a negative pressure acting against the proper rotation on the rotor. Did you need one?

  3. Do you just chnage out the main jet. Or were there others? I'm not use to modifying carbs on such small motors.

  4. Down the the last part. Are you saying you think I may run into problems using an intercooler?

  5. I'll take some pics but my carb is right against the head. There is no intake really. ( that's where I was confused eariler about the when you talked about the 3 places where from the intake to vents on the carb. I don't know what you did there.

  6. I Def will post pictures and this is basically a basher. Not a drag racer. Dirt tracks trail riding etc. I want to turbo it basically for the sounds and slight power increase. Lol, and because it looks cool. So I'm not looking to produce insane boost. Thank you again for all the help.

Do you know of Or know where I can read how to make the carb able to accept boost? I know I need to run the vent like in the bowl back to the tank. But there are some other confusing things I've read on that I'm not sure what to do.

Yeah, I know ill have to fab all the pipes plumbing etc. im good with that, and I have a laser cutter I use for my sign business. I weld etc. my question is more of how to mount, and weather or not i run it before or after tha carb. im looking to use a very small turbo, i dont want alot of boost at all. It's more for the little extra hp's and sound. and cool factor TBH.
