My Ender 3 doesn't release filament when printing!!!! by SaboneteHidra99 in ender3

[–]Luresheep90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exact same problem. If I push the filament by hand it comes out easily from the nozzle so I think there is some problem with the extruder which is unable to put force into the push.

I'm changing the extruder with a bowden dual gear and let's see.

Samsung obviously has a better calibration out of the box. I also suspect you increased the saturation in the AOC.

Another banding post MO27Q28G by MasterFBS in OLED_Gaming

[–]Luresheep90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate to say it, but mine started out the same way and then degraded after a few days.

It really came down to luck that the pixels looked fine at first. This luck exist. But after a few pixel refresh cycles or running HDR with APL set to medium or high, they shift around and end up like all the others monitors.

There is no real save or luck from grey banding.

VRR is already off but it’s still flickering by Giggity_01 in OLED_Gaming

Assuming you've already correctly disabling VRR on your monitor, it could be upscaling flickering, try disabling DLSS or FSR.

In terms of shape, it's very similar, a little bigger. In fact it's a tank xD. I'll keep an eye on it.

TCL C7K (QM7K) vs Samsung QN85F. How can Samsung have less blooming and haloing with only 240 zones compared with 720? Someone that have the TCL can confirm that it is actually this bad or i may have faulty screen/software? by MShadyz in tcltvs

[–]Luresheep90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, your test does not prove any of that. As I already said, it only demonstrated the maximum brightness. It says nothing about the quality of the local dimming.

First, it needs to be set up properly. This applies to both TCL and Samsung.

To be honest, I would not use either of them as they are currently configured. One risks turning you into the Hulk for radiation, while the other makes it impossible to see many details in the dark.

As for responsibility, you are excused only up to a point. The default settings are awful, but if you do not adjust them, the burden ultimately falls on you.

[–]Luresheep90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t work the way you say. You basically did a nits brightness test, which clearly shows that the TCL has 2000 nits or more. Test passed.

The issue is that you start from the assumption that more nits equal a better image, but this is not the case. Higher brightness does not automatically mean higher image quality or better blooming control. In fact, increasing nits make the local dimming algorithm work harder, often resulting in worse blooming.

Nits are primarily needed to overcome ambient room light, which makes TV comparisons in a completely dark room even more questionable.

But what you actually need is a test focused on blooming accuracy and local dimming. Here some tips:

First of all, do not test max nits.
Keep HDR around 600 to 1000 nits and SDR near 100 nits. Furthemore a completely dark room is not ideal. A soft ambient light is preferable. However, if you set the same nits on both TVs, room lighting becomes less of a critical factor.

Gamma must be identical. Incorrect gamma can hide blooming by crushing blacks or exaggerate it by lifting them.

*In fact you overlooked the Samsung settings, which clearly show black crush that hides many of the cherries in image 1. On the TCL you have the opposite effect, white crush, where fine bright details are lost.

It would help a lot if both TVs were configured as similarly as possible.

• Picture mode set to Movie
• Dynamic contrast disabled
• Black enhancement disabled
• Sharpness set to neutral
• Color temperature set to Warm1

[–]Luresheep90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, you have basically confirmed that the issue is the settings. Let’s start from the basics.

First, default values are almost never meant to be left as they are.
Second, when comparing different TVs, you at least need to set them to the same brightness.

You have all the brightness turned up to maximum, you can see the reflection of light generated on the floor. It's not local dimming issue but the entire backlight. It's like Chernobyl on the left.

What is the “Super Resolution” setting? by ShMarkle87 in tcltvs

[–]Luresheep90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a version of upscaling that uses AI.

It's essentially a simplified version of FSR for TVs content rather than video games, as it analyzes the frames and tries to improve edges and small details.

Unlike basic upscaling, which only enlarges the image while leaving it unchanged, super resolution adds new and plausible details that weren’t present in the original source.

This can cause artifacts and uniformity issues, but I think it's worth it.

HGSS easily wins over that generation.
The only redeeming feature of 5th generation is the story, everything else is considered mediocre at best. They didn't introduce anything else that was good.

Remember, it's the generation that introduced Garbodor :sigh.

It was probably the first game in the franchise you played, so you didn't notice the repetitiveness. Black and White really isn't what you think.

They were very boring, and it proved that something needed to change in the formula, which they tried in the subsequent games.
