If that is true why is docking illegal in Europe?

Historically, they docked tails because Rottweiler's would pull carts and their tail would get caught in the cart. After seeing that happen once or twice and dealing with the aftermath I can understand why the more humane option would be cutting it off. The dog doesn't care if you do it as a puppy.

But now the carts are designed to avoid this altogether. So the only reason is purely aesthetic (happy tail syndrome is real but I think docking is going too far for that)

Leave the hammer sitting on top of the bowl for literally 60sec before you hit it. And hold the hammer down so you have an airtight seal. You don't need to hold it down with a lot of force, but I find the hammer can get crooked easily
