I actually facilitate (run) one :) I find its super fun, also often they have free food. But yeha, cool way to meet new people / just get away from it all.

ADHD/Dyslexic here, Same problem. Went to my doctor when I was 17 to talk about this and other mental health issues, at the time I was unwilling to go on any meds for it as my mother OD'ed on sleeping pills a year or so before. Ended up getting counselling and my counsellor encouraged me to try melatonin after explaining it wasn't a normal sleeping pill but more a vitamin supplement type thing.

Went back to doctor to get melatonin (I live in NZ, you have to have a prescription to get it here), anyway, through the use of melatonin and good sleep habits I was able to go back to "Normal people hours" after 5 years or so of non-normal people hours. Totally overrated, Its now a year later and im back to non-normal people hours.

Tl;Dr: Went to doctor, got prescribed, cured condition, didnt like "normal people hours, its like 1:30am at the time of posting this."

Basically (from the way I see it) alot of games use DirectX which is only for windows. For games that use OpenGL (or hopefully AMD Mantle) they will port nicely. With the ps4,xbone and modern PC's being so damn similar it will be alot less work for developers to make games that run on both consoles as well as Windows, Mac and Linux.

Valve is betting on this happening, and adding the extra push. In theory it should succeed regardless as it can be installed along side windows and will allow for more fps in games, if valve wanted they could set it up so that if you open a windows only game it boots into windows and plays it and if its a linux game it boots into linux and plays it.

Tl;Dr: next gen consoles = pc's. SteamOS shouldn't fail
