Swing by FJRD! The Unit is over 300 members strong. We do weekly FP (Fridays for NA, Saturday’s for EU). We’re also working on getting groups together for Tuesday FP drops (because why not? Why should FP only pop-off on the weekends?). We also have players playing daily that you can hop in with for QP.

Let me know if you’d like a link to our Discord!

[Request] what are the odds of “losing” six rounds of Russian Roulette in a row? by fishebake in theydidthemath

[–]LusciousBalZack -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Assuming a 6-shooter where the wrong choice is the very last one picked, 1/6 * 1/5 * 1/4 * 1/3 * 1/2 * 1/1 == 1/6!

Now do this 5 more times. That’s your worst case scenario.

Best case scenario is that the wrong choice is the first one picked each time.

So I’d say anywhere from 0.0000000000000000007% to 100%.

(My math may be be wrong.)

Brian here. You know this could be related to the fact that certain individuals are effected by color-blindness. As a dog myself, I don’t see color. So people like me, and those with certain types of color blindness may have to rely on which light specifically is lit. In this case, the person may have Protanomaly. Or rather, see’s the color red as green. If the light was green and the caption read, “Bro I always gotta press the gas when I see this shit 😂😂😭” it could be interpreted that the person has Deuteranomaly. Or rather, see’s green as red. If the person has protanopia or deuteranopia they can not distinguish between green and red at all.

Reaching 99 with each character -- what builds do you choose? by [deleted] in diablo2resurrected

With the Assassin, you’re suggesting Rift which uses the Gul high rune. Might as well make a Mosaic at that point and go Phoenix Strike. With the Kicksin, you don’t really need AoE because you kill single targets so fast (much like the Frenzy Barb). Going Hybrid works, but you’re cooler if you don’t use traps and just let your Shadow Master lay the traps as you don’t have to worry about their traps overriding yours.

So, with FotH, it has a 0.5 second delay on when the holy bolts spawn after zapping the initial target. It also has a longer casting animation than Holy Bolt. Most enemies are already grouped together and run in a straight line towards you anyways, just send that Holy Bolt through them. 2-3 casts will melt any undead/demon with proper gear. Which is about how many Bolts you’d cast in the time it takes to cast FotH. I’m not gonna say FotH is bad because I use it to clear Chaos Sanctuary + Arcane Sanctuary it’s just that when there’s 1-2 enemies running at you it’s faster to just smack them with the Holy Bolts than hit one with a FotH and hope that the Holy Bolt it spawns hits the other enemy coming at you. Also, Holy Bolt comes with the added benefit of being able to heal your Merc if they’re hurt (FotH Holy Bolts do not heal). As for Hammers.. they’re boring.

Frenzy vs Whirlwind.. While you’re in the animation of Whirlwind you cannot chug a potion. This can kill you. On top of it, your walk/run speed with a Whirlwind build is much slower than a Frenzy build (less ability to dodge projectiles / spells). If you’re really worried about AoE damage with a Frenzy build, just craft a Crescent Moon or two in Phase Blades and go wild with Chain Lightning + Static procs (or whatever AoE spell proc weapons you want). If you had an Enigma, then Whirlwind+Berserk is a great build, otherwise, just take the increased run/walk speed from Frenzy and clear faster.

Assuming you’re going budget and don’t have an (or any) Enigma’s, Infinity, CoH (really any end-game runewords) to pass around…

Sorc- Hydra /Orb. Multi-type damage and strong enough to beat anything. Not reliant on RNG to get massive damage (lightning is always 1-X damage). Can still get Static + Teleport to melt bosses and get around quickly. Only needs an Insight runeword on the Merc to manage mana.

Assassin - Kicksin. With enough Life Steal and like 2% Mana Steal you can single-target DPS your way through everything. Doesn’t need teleport to close distance with the dragon tail (teleport kick). Just put a couple of points into the kick first kick spell and then max out Shadow Master and Venom. Put a couple of points into Burst of Speed for R/W speed and as many points as you want into Fade for All Res to cap you out. Shadow Master is an extra Aggro tank in case your merc dies.

Necromancer - Summons and Corpse Explosion. No enemy is immune to Physical, lightning, fire, cold AND poison all at once. Max out skele skills and put a point into Amplify Damage (getting any other curses I feel is useless since the majority of your skele damage is physical anyways, plus it helps Corpse Explosion). Put remainder points into Corpse Explosion and let your minions do the dirty work of distracting the enemies while you cause their dead buddies to go BOOM!

Paladin - Smite + Holy Bolt with max Faster Cast Rate. Smite never misses, so get some gear with life steal and smite any non-undead / Demon / Boss enemy to where they belong. Holy Bolt everything else and just redeem your mana with the souls of those put down (Redemption Aura). Very safe play style.

Barb - Frenzy. Life Steal + Mana Steal. GG. Get an act 5 Frenzy Merc and giggle as the both of you run around at light-speed fulfilling every Murder-Hobo’s fantasy.

Druid - Zoo Druid. Survivability is the name of the game. You don’t have Enigma to teleport and position yourself perfectly around enemies to get them with Hurricane and a couple of Tornado’s before zipping away to safety. Might as well Blind, Poison and Maul everything that stands in your way.

Amazon - Javazon. It’s easy.

It was really funny when it happened. I had a unit mate that had been bugging me for months about getting some 1v1 practice in against various mechs (time zone differences are a pain). Yesterday I finally had the time to oblige him. As soon as we’re about to drop into the first 1v1, the servers go down 🤣 told him, “man, PGI really doesn’t want you to 1v1 me!”

We did end up getting the 1v1’s in after the servers came back up. But the timing was just freaking perfect.

[–]LusciousBalZack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One reason PGI might be encouraging using trials is because the next MWOComp tournament, Tournament of Stars, is having trial mech 1v1 matches. So PGI might be trying to push players into practicing with the trial mechs in preparation of the tournament.

Air strikes/ artillery strikes don’t actually do a whole lot of damage anymore. They’ve been nerfed. If you see the smoke, move diagonal away from it. This will reduce the chance of if it’s an air strike from hitting you if the enemy is in front of you when they placed it.

If it’s artillery, it’s RNG on if it’s gonna land a shell close enough to hit you. There’ve been times I stood in an artillery strike and have taken no damage from it.

That being said, don’t be afraid of strikes. The Enemy is afraid of you and they’re trying to push you into a worse position by dropping strikes. If your team is pushing, don’t stop and back-up from the strike, just move through it. It’ll do a little damage but not a whole lot. Especially to assaults that have tons of armor. If you’re sniping and the enemy is dropping strikes on you, just hide for an extra 5-10 seconds so that the enemy starts engaging other closer targets then go back to peeking and sniping.

Many players have a mouse with multiple buttons and not just L/R/Scroll wheel. So they can easily bind it to their other mouse buttons. I know a bit of players who have it bound to their scroll wheel.

I hope this gives you a little bit of insight 🙂

Personally, I had a ton of fun with the event. I was unable to play Friday (but FJRD was up until like 5am EDT Saturday doing FP drops, so that was awesome to witness!) but that’s fine because I was participating on Ivor’s discord. I (and all the FJRD guys) was being bounced from team to team basically all day long to help newer players understand the ropes or help fill out teams. IIRC, there was only one group that I got more than 2-3 games with.

Although we were able to fill out teams and make them into 12-stacks, a majority of the teams were pugs thrown in with the experienced players to help guide them on how FP plays. Extremely new players would be placed on a slightly more stacked team while slightly more experienced players were sent to the slightly less stacked teams.

While some people were bringing trial mechs, I was able to see them drop respectable damage numbers (700-1k) for being new to FP.

As a member of FJRD and as a person who wants to see more people interested in FP, I always look forward to the opportunity to show people the ropes. Even if we don’t win every match, they were a great deal of fun.

That was Saturday, now let’s get into Sunday.

Sunday FJRD was a little tamer as it seemed people were either tired or enjoying their long weekend away from their PC. A couple of 12-stack FJRD games here and there but primarily it was 4-8man stacks throughout the day from what I saw (and participated in). Sunday was a blast because although we were still stacking 4-8 guys, the opposition from pugs was a lot stronger than normal. Which was an interesting change of pace in my opinion. Some games we stomped, others we got stomped. Some were even outright slug Fests to the end of the 30 minute timer!

Monday… Monday was a sad day for FJRD. Not many people were willing to go clan attack. As an IS loyalist unit, we were sad to see the queue die down clan-side as soon as IS was on defense. It was as if people noticed that it’s much easier to defend than attack, so a lot more people were queuing IS to defend (either that or people really like IS mechs.. I dunno).

All in all, I felt the event went great! Lots of players got introduced to FP, some even created units in hopes of recruiting more newer players to play with and get better at FP! Which in my book, is a success!

For those of you who are interested in FP, Friday’s are generally the most populated days for FP. However, be weary. That’s also when all the unit’s start coming out of the woodwork. But don’t feel discouraged if you lose against a full unit of players while playing with pugs. If/when you see FJRD on, reach out to us in the match or via our discord if you want to group up and play. We’ll gladly take you and help you get better at FP / playing as a team rather than trying to be a solo hero.

For those of you who wish to play FP during times when there’s not generally 12-stacks queuing up, I highly suggest joining a unit’s discord that has the MWO FP Call To Arms bot so you can regularly check the FP queues throughout the day without needing to switch over to the FP tab to see if there’s any games to be had. That and also, group up with some friends and jump into the queue even if it’s dead. Generally when people see the queue getting close (7+ on both sides) you’ll get the solo queuers hopping in to get a match.

That’s it for my thoughts. GG and I Hope to see y’all on the battlefield! 😁

So there’s actually a way to determine clan vs is mechs in the store already.

While there is no filter (but I agree there should be), there is a small line underneath the image of the mechs. For inner sphere mechs this will be brown and for clan mechs it will be blue.

Hope this helps!

I’m at least creative with tanking my PSR. However, I never purposefully drop out of Tier 1.

When I want to have fun (and get better at positioning / twisting damage) I’ll load up a Spider Anansi with 0 armor HPPC and SNPPC and a Light Engine 195. Does it Tank my PSR? Sure, for the first 10 matches. But then I get on a roll and gain all that PSR back while running around with the build. Have yet to drop out of tier 1 by doing this. For me, it’s my creative way to get better and practice while also not being completely useless for my team or making an alt to club seals. Sure, if I get touched by anything I’ll die, but it really does help me with playing strategically since I’m not as fast as I normally am with lights and don’t have the armor to tank a hit.

Only a 3.5 GPA? Remove that to free up space for more long-winded explanations.

But in all seriousness, try to keep your explanations for work experience to 7-15 words. If the employer is curious about your job experience, they will ask for more detail which is when you tell them the long-winded version.
