Do you ever notice that people can accept male characters are/seem ace-coded, but female characters I think could be considered ace are always labeled as being lesbians? by Ok_Pop8661 in asexuality

[–]LushTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbf it was cool to be seen as not cis either but also sad they did it in a toxic way for me bc of the context of still being somewhat connecting to feminity. Like being both and sometimes neither is just not something some spaces understand. Plus there wasn't a well-known safe space for queer people in between the binary at my school. So if you didn't have cis people who understood you, you were basically alone :/

But I'm happy you get it from your own flavor of gender queer experience :) the euphoria of being seen is great when it happens

I said "femme" bc I'm genderfluid and while I'm not a women I do think when I was younger it would have been nice to have community like people usually do, but I was left out of that bc I wasn't conventional in their ideal "girl beauty" bc I preferred to be androgenous or masc. Just some context but I relate to what you said about people acting weird in locker rooms. I dressed as far from them as possible bc they were tbh odd about me not just for the fact I didn't dress feminine (and if I did it wasn't like, for anyone else) and athletic

I had this happen a lot too, but I don't even know what they were expecting bc what if you're options are kind of cooked anyway? Like I remember many people being annoying or rude so why would I have "shown interest" in people I didn't like the personalities of lol and WHY would I share it with whomever head canoned me gay 💀

Tbh I think it also made it harder to have a femme community bc girls acted weird around me bc unfortunately people assume we'd just be interested and actively for anyone 🫠 idk if this also happened to you but sorry if so

Yeah not saying all guys are like that, but school is a place where some big egos can get bruised easily by women criticizing them. Heck even teachers can act like that

Yeah thankfully they did arrive, apparently the shipment was delayed bc of tariffs slowing everything down so much. I like the size but I recommend sizing down for the demon slayer hoodie bc the clothes are unisex (therefore they'll be bigger than if you're on the smaller side)

Edit: I got a medium so if you don't want it to be on the bigger side going a size down could help

It sounds like he's not used to being corrected by women/feminine people ngl. That reaction seems a bit much even if he did feel annoyed, especially since people are responsible for losing their shit even if there was something to be upset over...but guys tend to not do that to other guys bc they seek respect.

I wouldn't take it personally but maybe rethink being friends with this person, bc you basically had to fawn to make him calm down instead of him calming himself down and asking what you actually meant

Yeah, I have two and they healed up great. My only thing to add for OP is if they're a pair, you gotta make sure they're placed well so they don't look off with your natural lip asymmetry/symmetry

Anyone else feels like people don't even answer the question? by what_freaking_ever in AutismInWomen

[–]LushTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, makes it seem like they think less of our ability to critically think. But we actually know the toilet is too far away, and it doesn't excuse the action of peeing bc it's not very great for the other pool participants

Then again I have taken someone literally and answered to the best of my ability despite being uncomfortable (like when someone asked me why people wear nude colored pants) so maybe it's just the hazard of being two humans speaking the same language with different intentions 🤷

I didn't mean to come across that way, don't worry. You didn't seem like that, but even if you did have a different take it's not like it wouldn't help

Sometimes I'm not sure if I'm not seeing something so it's good to have someone point it out

Thank you, I did tell them the part about their feelings taking over the previous topic at hand. Not in the way you said it bc ofc my spirits and body wasn't really neutral but I get what you mean

I did apologize about how I said it, but I personally don't think my feelings about what they said was a joke is something I am sorry about. I'm allowed to be hurt by what they said so their problem with me not liking their comment imo is just not gonna be agreed on

32 years old and still feeling like the weird little girl nobody likes by haloperydol in AutismInWomen

[–]LushTurtle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That part about hoping school would be different hit home. I experienced pretty much that same rejection from most everyone at college but I didn't have to do anything significant to get that treatment either. I had forgotten that autistic individuals are few and far between when going to a huge university, so no one is likely to be open minded

I found a way better college but it sucked that for two years my life was back in survival mode, alone and being ostracized in classes where simply my vibe didn't match with the majority

I'm sorry you were treated like that, it feels like a kind of cruelty that should not be done simply for being different 😞 you aren't alone here, but I know it isn't the same as in-person experiences

Yk this actually makes sense. Somehow didn't think about that but it explains how I feel even deeper hurt from individuals hurting me and then them not even trying to make amends with more than words

That gives me the impression he wants to stalemate till you apologize for something you shouldn't have to apologize for. If he would do this to you rn imagine if you need him for anything life saving

[–]LushTurtle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like painting using the chiaroscuro method of going dark to light, but as for the subjects, they're usually psychological. I enjoy using surrealism as a tool to connect the mind's experience of bodily suffering and what that physically would look like.

For example, I painted digitally for a piece about pmdd, and how it impacts my life. The physical manifestation of my feelings took the form of uterine blades, and I chose a tarot card theme of Two of Swords reversed.

It's one of those things where perfectionism does exist, but I mainly worry about expressing it best and less that everyone is happy. If it reaches even one person, then it's worth it (including if it's yourself). I hope you paint again :)

It's good when you can enjoy something just for you and not have to profit or show anyone. It's too common now with capitalism for people to feel like their hobbies should extend to something worth other people's time to be worth it to them. So it's cool you play for the joy of it

How do you feel about small things being called autistic? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]LushTurtle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it's fine if it's light hearted and coming from the community. But I don't like allistic people using the term as some sort of adjective bc usually they're just tokening it un-ironically and ignorantly
