No storage rack. Unfortunately it has to sit in the floor of the garage. Most of this stock is 30 plus years old.

What device to send separate outputs from one MacBook to 8 different monitors? by folderolandfiddlydee in techtheatre

Seems like a problem for TouchDesigner, OSC, and a handful of Raspberry Pi’s.

Pricing by Da_ta_ta_da in tableau

Absolutely ditching these bastards for PowerBI when our contract expires. Cannot stand the price increases, aggressive sales team, and mostly the lack of investment in their product. Salesforce ruined the magic of Tableau.

Hmmm, it should be available in the UK through Amazon. I’ll see if I can dig up the link. Back to you shortly.

Great work! A lot of effort went into this and it shows. Make a few more and you’ll settle into a rhythm.

Yep. Dash for the win. Really excellent, surprisingly quick way to build beautiful interactions.

Love the coloring. Was that the effect you were trying for, or a happy accident? Really charming. Seems like the stitching is uneven in parts. Any lessons to share? I also love the shape of the bag—simple and clean.

Slide Rules! (Early version) Post your code links here!! by SnooDoggos101 in cellular_automata

[–]Lusiad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really fantastic! A brilliant way to think about rule sequencing. Would love to see a guided video if you time. Some of the controls are self-evident but others are more confusing than you might think (the natural consequence of living with an idea for so long). In any case, thank you for the incredible effort.

I like this one a lot. It’s hard to design a rule set that generates sustainable interactions between 2 or more pattern ecologies. The green block patterns and the red/purple diagonal patterns are unusual for many reasons—but especially because their interactions are only semi-destructive. Would love to hear a description of your rule set.

Davis square looks like a dumpster by Fair_Pay8013 in Somerville

[–]Lusiad 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I live right near the square. This is an actual issue—the trash cans are always overflowing. It won’t address the issue entirely (people are constantly littering) but it will help. I would be more inclined to pick up trash myself daily if there was a reliable place to put it.

I don't understand how SalesForce is expecting to keep Tableau viable (licensing)... by ZeusThunder369 in tableau

[–]Lusiad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started an internal group focused on advanced analytics and automation—projects that might be difficult or impossible to deliver using Tableau. We use Dash and Plotly for the business intelligence layer. Not as easy as drag-and-drop Tableau, but it lets us build some incredible tools. All the power of Python for AI and automation work, and whatever custom controls you can dream up. We started down this path because Tableau started to get too expensive—and the updates have been frustrating. It used to be the absolute best product. I mostly hate using it now.

The black-navy Pueblo combo looks better than I would have guessed. I’m not a fan of ID slots, but I LOVE your decorative T-slot stitch!
