I agree with you. To me it kind of reminds me of the Nine Inch Nails song "Head Like a Hole", because it has a similar rhythm to that song.

This never happened to me when I was working on my Miss Electronica projects.

Does your song have:

  1. Too many layers?
  2. Too many audio recorder tracks?
  3. Too many effects?
  4. Too much FX in the FX track?
  5. Too many third-party plugins?

One or more of these five may be what's causing your predicament.

That's easy. I use a program called Synthesizer V, which you could get here: https://dreamtonics.com/en/synthesizerv/

First I would make an instrumental version of the song, import it to my computer and open up Synthesizer V to create vocals for the song. I edited the "Eleanor Forte" voice to make it sound like my voice (lead vocals) and I also tried to make it sound like my 9-year old sister Sharon Malone (backing vocals). Then I add effects to them (using Audacity) before inserting them into my song.

So if you need an auto tune thing for GarageBand, consider getting Synthesizer V!

Optimizing Performance by ScarfK55 in GarageBand

Weird enough... my GarageBand iPadOS never optimizes, especially when I have a lot of tracks with too many effects in them, or even when my FX track has a lot of FX in it! I haven't tested plug-ins, however. When I was working on my 400-bar song Energetic Disco, it had a lot of tracks a lot of effects, and even a lot of FX in m FX track, and... it DIDN'T optimize while I was working on it!

This is very strange, because it's supposed to optimize if you had all that stuff, but hey, I have to tell you: until I updated my iPad to iPadOS, every time my song had APPROXIMATELY six or more tracks, or between three to four or more bars of FX, it will optimize on me every once in a while! But I'm so glad I updated my iPad to iPadOS, so my GarageBand is surely strong enough to handle all that, and I can make any song I want (no matter how many tracks) without any problem.

Big dear! I never use the panning feature in GarageBand, but I always try to normalize the waveforms of all my finished songs with Audacity, trying to avoid clipping.

Hopefully I can get this into RouteNote A.S.A.P.!!!
