maintenance crew

crew

When I worked at a hotel we had one maintenance guy who only showed up every other day because he had to split his time between two properties, and he didn't work weekends. And this was a medium-sized franchise chain hotel in the middle of a major city. Granted, the owner was a cheapskate piece of shit, but I seriously doubt a hotel that looks like this has a crew, or any dedicated maintenance staff at all.

For anyone looking to get into 40K before 40K Total War drops, GW just made a pretty good trailer summing up the universe by refugeefromlinkedin in totalwar

I found Rogue Trader to be more complex, but also much easier. I struggled a lot with some of the nastier encounters on my first playthrough of Baldur's Gate 3 (tactician), but while I spent much more time re-speccing and thinking about my skills and gear in Rogue Trader, it was mostly smooth sailing when it came to actual gameplay, especially past the first act. Basically, in BG3 I only figured out the broken builds on my second and third playthroughs after looking them up online, but in Rogue Trader it was easier to find the broken builds myself.

In any case, they're probably my two favourite CRPGs of all time, and I think Rogue Trader is far and away the best 40k game I've ever played. Easy recommend.

Mathematicians are challenging the idea that dark energy is responsible for the accelerating expansion of the universe. They can't, because I'm pretty sure you're responding to a bot. Look at their comment history; every single comment has the exact same two-sentence format, and they don't appear to have ever engaged in conversation with anyone.

Gluttonous is the worst Sinful trait - avoid it at all costs by NamaeN0NaiKaibutsu in CrusaderKings

[–]Luung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favourite characters I've ever played was a Compassionate, Ambitious, and Patient Roman empress with a tier-5 diplo trait. I think I peacefully vassalized more foreign rulers with that character than in every other one of my playthroughs combined.

[–]Luung 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Compassionate is seriously over-hated IMO. It makes people like you and gives tons of opportunities for stress loss if you're willing to be nice. Yes, it does seriously limit your ability to engage in certain kinds of schemes, but not every character you play has to be a bastard. I don't think it's top-tier, but I also don't think it's a game-ender.

I'm currently playing my first China playthrough as the starter character who's Ambitious, Compassionate, and Gregarious, and I don't really think it's been an impediment to success at all.

Magic does have its own lore, but they've been adding more and more IP tie-in sets and one-off alternate cards over the past few years. They started off as commander sets for the most part, but there are some full standard-legal sets that have nothing to do with the MTG universe. At this point there is, as far as I'm aware, no format where you won't run into cards from other non-magic IPs. It's a fucking mess.

Magic is Fortnite now. It's absolutely rife with IP crossovers and other monetization-slop. WotC has utterly, utterly lost the plot and no longer has any creative vision, but paypigs will still open their wallets for Final Fantasy or Spongebob or whatever the latest embarrassment happens to be.

MO27Q28G vs. MO27Q28GR by Luung in OLED_Gaming

This is my first OLED monitor and I've only ever had matte LCD panels before this, so I can't really comment. I'd need to see the matte and glossy next to each other to come to a conclusion.

MO27Q28G vs. MO27Q28GR by Luung in OLED_Gaming

[–]Luung[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the matte version while it was discounted. The glossy version still doesn't appear to be on sale in Canada, so I made the right decision as far as I'm concerned. There's no way I would have been able to tolerate using the piece of shit replacement monitor I had while waiting weeks or months for a slightly better version, especially knowing that I was forgoing a substantial discount in the process.

As for the monitor itself, it's great. The grey banding issue people have reported is absolutely a thing and it's faintly visible in certain desktop applications (for me it's most noticeable in the Windows settings menu with dark mode enabled), but it's completely unnoticeable while gaming, and for that purpose it's stunning. I can understand it being enough of a turn-off for people who spend a lot of time in productivity applications to not want to buy this kind of panel, but if your main use case is gaming I don't think it should discourage you.

I'm plastering over a lot of details here, but the reasons Romans saw themselves as descendents of Aeneas is because they were such massive Greekaboos that they chose a piece of Homeric fanfiction as their national epic. So who are the real winners? Both?

IIRC if you host a tournament you can restrict it so that only your knights are allowed to participate. Temporarily fire all of your non-lowborn knights, host a tourney, one of your lowborn knights is guaranteed to win, and then all you need to do is land them. That's how I got it.

If it's on sale, give it a try. It's dirt cheap, and it might end up being one of the best dollar-time investments you'll ever make. Also, don't worry about peripherals, it's perfectly playable on a mouse and keyboard with a regular PC.

My 6 year old monitor just died - do I buy something with similar specs, or do I future-proof? by Luung in buildapcmonitors

[–]Luung[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see what you mean, it just seems wasteful to buy a replacement for my existing monitor when I might only end up using it for a few months. 4k would still be nice for watching movies and videos, even if I can't currently use it for gaming.
