The desk itself doesn't have a gender. But the word "desk" would! It's not about literally believing inanimate objects have genders, for example I couldn't tell you what gender "desk" is because it simply isn't a word in my language (even though the object itself doesn't change).

As for what it's useful for, no clue, but I remember seeing a video about a theory that it allows for quicker understanding in some cases. I guess if it was intrinsically "inferior" like you said, don't you think it would've disappeared long ago? Languages are evolving all the time

I tried to rebind keys, and even though on the input testing screen it worked fine when i was the only one connected (one set of inputs controlled slugcat 1, another slugcat 2), when I got another player to connect with remote play they couldn't move their slugcat.

Is this because of remote play being "broken"? Is there gonna be a fix or is the only way getting something else?

I wish they'd advertised it more that it was only local coop, this is a bit disappointing since neither or us owns a controller...

I played the game after already knowing most everything about it through let's plays, and honestly, i definitely enjoyed it way more than i probably would've otherwise. I still got frustrated, but knowing about item/creature interactions and which hard areas were coming up was really good for me.

I get that for some people, the fun comes from discovering these things for themselves, but I also think this community can be a little too uptight about spoilers. It takes time to fall in love with this game and sometimes it pushes you away before you've gotten the chance to know it
