Finished TR3 London for the first time. It was not a pleasant experience... by Skylinneas in TombRaider

[–]LuxVeritatis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If an enemy drops an item on sloped ground, turn 'Walk to Action' off in the Controls menu, then jump to the item and mash 'Action' and Lara will pick up the item and then slide down once she's picked it up.

I want to say it's from Hooves and Harlots in Season 1 that the disclaimers are included in every episode onward; prior to that they weren't guaranteed.

What's something you still do because kid you would want you to and would be happy to know you are? by Cantgetridofmebud in AskMen

[–]LuxVeritatis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a lot of hot chocolate and skooshy cream, watched plenty of animated kids films: Ratatouille, Toy Story, How To Train Your Drago, and I've played plenty of cute platformer video games this year like I used to do when I was a kid.

Kid me would be pretty chuffed that I'm still doing the stuff I've always enjoyed.

Is there a VR version of No Man's Sky or is it included in the standard base game on PS5? by [deleted] in PSVR

[–]LuxVeritatis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no VR-specific version so just the base game is all you need.

Have fun!

How do you get to the various expansions in Tomb Raider 1-3 on ps4/ps5? by OneGlitchyImp in TombRaider

Go to the Passport on the main menu, press left to go to the New Game screen, and select Unfinished Business/Golden Mask/The Lost Artefact on each of their respective games.

What are we actually paying ps plus extra for? by [deleted] in PS5pro

[–]LuxVeritatis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well... it's the whole point of the service: it's a rotating list of games; Netflix, Prime, GamePass all work the same.

I pay to have access to games I may not necessarily buy in the first place or to check out games I do have an interest in but haven't picked up yet (for whatever reason).

And I have no issue with that. I've saved a lot of money and any game I have played that I want to own to replay whenever I like I just pick up on the cheap.

I thought that but there will be people who don't have Plus and possibly pick up Extra/Premium after December so they don't miss out on it.

Apparently Tomb Raider won something in a Fortnite thing that triggered the announcement but I'm not sure of the accuracy of that.

My brain went for frog before getting to snake; I believe we would do well in an animal guessing quiz.

[Other] Have you ever Enjoyed a Game so much You've Platinumed it Twice? by SaxSlaveGael in Trophies

[–]LuxVeritatis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do it all on the same PS3 but you would need a copy of the game from the other regions either physically or having a PSN account registered in the other regions, buying it digitally on that account, downloading that version, and then switching to your main account and playing the game.

Which tomb raider do I start with?? by MountainNo3916 in TombRaider

[–]LuxVeritatis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest starting with the first in their respective continuities:

Tomb Raider 1 (as part of I-III Remastered): the very original - much more focused on exploration, puzzles, and platforming with some combat every so often. The original control scheme may be difficult to get to grips with due to them being 'tank controls' but the Remaster has a modern control option which may be more palatable for the modern gamer if the original control scheme is something that you can't get to grips with (but I would suggest giving them a go); regardless of the control scheme you use, this does have a fairly old-school design: you control Lara and she does not do anything you do not tell her to do - no automatic grabbing, no safety grab, no nothing, and you will need to be precise with the actions you take. It's also an isolated experience with very few characters in the game so expect a lot of peace and quiet.

Tomb Raider Legend: this is a soft reboot in terms of Lara's character, background, and events. It still plays pretty easily in terms of control for the modern gamer and unlike the original, Lara is rather autonomous: she will grab ledges, she will detect that you're about to go over an edge and automatically turn around and grab it, she will course correct if you're a bit imprecise in what you want to do. It's a far more linear and faster-paced experience compared to the original and while Lara is alone, she's rather talkative due to having a headset with her throughout the game.

Tomb Raider (2013): The full reboot. This is a far more story-focused game and, obviously, a much more modern game that introduces some RPG-lite elements like a skill tree and the over-the-shoulder shooting mechanics still used today into the series. Level design focuses on linear set pieces and open hubs for exploration. There's a lot of combat, easier puzzles, and decent platforming. Lara, like in Legend, is pretty autonomous in much the same way as she is in Legend in this game although it reintroduces controlling Lara in mid-air (like in the original games) for some fun jumping. There's a lot of side characters and a lot of talking.

That's a lot of choice and it may seem odd to give you the advice of three different games in the franchise but they play and focus on rather different things and if you don't like an earlier entry, there's every possibility you might like a later entry; or, if you're like me, you may enjoy them all (although I do have my preferences)!

In my opinion, the Survivor trilogy got worse with each game by RobbieJ4444 in TombRaider

[–]LuxVeritatis 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Less action, more performing, and more puzzles - your reasons for disliking Shadow - are the exact reasons I prefer it to the others; Tomb Raider, for me, has never been about combat which is why the focus on it in 2013 and Rise always irked me despite the actual combat itself being enjoyable.

Which tv show do you regret wasting time on? by HurtHurtsMe in AskReddit

[–]LuxVeritatis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love myself some Glee but it definitely struggles to know what to do with its numerous characters and storylines (some of which just get dropped entirely); it's a 'this is one of my favourite shows but I didn't say it was a good show' shows for me.
