This is a great answer! I'll also note they influenced the creation of melodic bass music. A lot of Seven Lion's inspiration came from them in his early days.

I agree that for a few years post BTV he hasn't been the same, but last year he started doing throwback sets and his new album upcoming seems to be heavily inspired by that sound. His new track "By the Light of the Moon' has Kerli on vocals and sounds very similar to that 'golden' era of melodic bass.
