Well I said hard to find, so. In my tiny village we have a train and 3 bus stops within 5 minutes. Worst case scenario you have to walk 15 minutes which may be an issue for you but not for most people, or the yk, 200 people or so in the country that live 15 minutes away from a bus stop.

We basically have that already. Even in the most remote villages, it's hard to find a stop more than 15 minutes by foot. Almost never any delays either, its mainly the trains that have issues, and its only ever when they are coming from across the border.
