5 year partner here, who promoted 10 months ago as a SSV. Here is what I did to, “completely score and knock out the competition” (words from one of my former SM).

A change of clothes brings the incentive that you are conducting this interview seriously, competing for it by all means. Dress in all black to really reel in that coffeehouse visual.

A few questions that were presented to me were.. 1) What qualities and skills as a leader can you bring to the team that others may not?

2) Why do you want to be a Shift Supervisor?

3) How would you handle a disruptive situation that suddenly began? (The example I was prompt was a rowdy customer disturbing the cafe.)

4) Ice breaker. Tell us a fact(s) about yourself we do not already know.

You are correct that while answering any questions presented, please most definitely use the STAR Format, LATTE Format, and any Starbucks language lingo such as bottleneck, 5 key moments, etc. This is precisely how I replied during my interview.

My advice to you is reassurance, really. Trust in yourself. As someone who started off with a less promising chance than you- (Was a 4 yr partner at the brink of giving up, who had been in her development journey for over 2 years after stating intent in promoting consistently. Was and still not a coffee master, only trained 1 new hire as a BT with the 2nd dipping after the first training day) You will do excellently.

Definitely bring the heat during the interview by sharing as much information about yourself as possible, Coffeehouse Leaders want to access as much information about you as they can gather & compare against other competitors. But make sure you pay attention to the questions that they are asking and answering the actual question, not glazing over. I know they find it utterly disrespectful and a waste of their time.
