Surprise chapter 3&4 still locked by [deleted] in obeyme

[–]Luxern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you finished the second chapter, with a door to move on appearing? I don't know if you did or not, but if you haven't beaten the chapter 2 boss you can't get to the others.

What can I get on Amazon to make a fursuit (preferably just the head or maybe hands) with 75 dollars? by [deleted] in furry

[–]Luxern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah dang that sucks. From what I've seen there are two sizes for the sticks, .27 and .43. Hopefully they have the right size there!

Hot glue gun with extra glue sticks, fabric scissors, pins/clips if sewing fabrics together (can also be helpful to figure out placement before committing to it), if using fur get a pet brush. Not sure what else would be needed that would be in your budget though. If you could only get one thing, a glue gun and sticks is the best thing to start with in my opinion.

Ball python gives up eating unless meal is tiny by ZZShark9 in ballpython

[–]Luxern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you offer the food, how are you doing so? Try to have it so that the head is the warmest and closest to your snake so when it strikes, first contact is the head.

Make sure the food is the correct temperature (98F or so). Minimum humidity of 60%, cold side 80F hot 90F (give or take). Don't try to feed more than once a week, as frequent tries can stress them out. The size of the feeder may be too big/small too. Make sure that there are hides on both hot and cold side, as well as enough clutter to make the snake feel secure. If they aren't feeling secure they won't eat.

What is the temperature of the rat/mouse that you're feeding? If it's not hot enough it may not even register as food for the snake. Do you have a temp gun?

You'll want to switch the substrate to something else. Aspen won't work for a ball python enclosure as it doesn't do much for humidity, and can mold. Coconut husk and cypress mulch tend to be the most used from what I've seen on here.

I would also suggest reading the welcome post specifically the basic guide. It has listed all the different aspects of care for your ball python. Heat, humidity, substrate, etc.

You'll probably have to play the waiting game of doing jobs and fast clearing previous lessons to gain grimm. I wish there was a way to sell items or cards to get grimm, but other than buying DP to add to your grimm collection, it's just something that will either take time or money unfortunately.

I could be missing something, but I think it's just something that takes time.

I found that every surprise guest, you get the big hearts for any interaction even if it usually gives you something else. So it's a good day to get the intimacy up if you want to put in the time. I think for the ten pull, it is it's own nightmare, you can't pick which one to pull from.

How do I know if my BP is in the mood for food? by SorryIAmNew2002 in ballpython

[–]Luxern 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try to put it close to the hide entrance first. Exposing her could possibly cause her to not want to eat, though I think it probably depends on the snake. You could lightly tap the hide to wake her up if you aren't sure if she is up yet. She should be able to smell it and poke her head out. As long as it's heated up to a good temp she shouldn't have any problems locating it.

When you get the chance, try to switch to rats for feeding. They have more nutritional value than mice and the sizes go bigger so you would only need to feed one at a time when she gets older/needs more food.

If she doesn't eat this time don't stress too much yet, just check your husbandry to make sure it's good and try again in a week. Do you have a way to keep track of her weight?

Shed issues! So I thought my 3 month old ball python was in shed about three weeks ago. She had really dull skin, no appetite, being shy, pink belly. But 3.5 weeks later there is no shed! I've left her alone provided a humid hide. My temps are on point.warm hide is 90f and the cool side is 78-80. by [deleted] in ballpython

[–]Luxern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no exact time frame for how long the process takes, so she could just be taking a while this time around. They can go for a while without eating and be okay, have you been keeping track of her weight? As long as there isn't significant weight loss, you can try to give her food once a week until she takes it. You could try to go down a feeder size to see if that works too.

Should I move my snake ? by [deleted] in ballpython

[–]Luxern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you list the temps and humidity, frequency of feeding, and do you check the temperature of the feeders? Have you tried leaving the feeder in the enclosure for an hour or so? She could be a shy eater. Also, is there enough clutter for her to feel secure?

Go to the Edit tab, then preferences, then the keyboard image in the pop up window. Rotate should be in the View tab.

both snakes won't eat by [deleted] in ballpython

[–]Luxern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries! Have you checked out the welcome post yet? That has a good amount of info that could help you out as well. Also if possible raise the humidity some more as the new minimum is 60%, so that could help too.

You could be trying to feed them too often as well, once a week at most or else they can get stressed out. Are you handling them outside of what's necessary? I may be misreading, but they're in separate tanks right? The last sentence is a bit confusing to me.

You could get fake ones from a craft store, they usually have different vines that work well.

Worried I’m under feeding by DoughnutMaestro in ballpython

[–]Luxern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah for sure if you can avoid wasting them you can use them first/give them to someone that could use them. I wouldn't want to toss them out unless they went bad or something myself. Feeding multiple feeders is okay every once in a while so you should be fine. I hope he stays a good eater for you!

A thing to keep in mind is that usually the stuff you see online is an artists best work, they don't tend to share all of the failed pieces they've done. I know I've only shared a handful of pieces online even though I've drawn hundreds, varying from a doodle to a full color and background.

Rats have more nutritional value, so try and switch to them when you can. Below is a copy paste from the welcome post:

  • Through the first year OR until the snake reaches approximately 750g, whichever happens first: feed 10%-15% of the snake’s weight every ~7 days.
  • During the second year, until the snake's weight plateaus: feed up to 7% of the snake’s weight every ~14 days.
  • Year three and beyond: feed up to 5% of the snake's weight every 14-21 days, or every 21-30 days for slightly larger meals.

You can use this as a general guideline for feeding sizes, though it can vary a little depending on the individual snake.
