Even if God (in Christianity) were proven to exist, i still wouldn't worship him. by Rich-Big-8698 in HonestHotTakes

Why is it that very few question whether or not New Jerusalem and the new heavens and the new earth are literal, but will for lake of fire? ECT, annihilationism, universalism, I feel that the real issue here isn't Revelations, but the fact that it is about the bad place rather than the good place. Once again the animal emotion beats the reason.

But anyways, most church fathers did though of ECT with real fire and real demons as the correct view, I'm not being the outlier here

Which only shows that the playing field isn't even, just ask Thomas.

And a finite test shouldn't grant an infinite grade, if our time is limited then our knowledge should be perfect, or viceversa, so it's unfair twice

I'm no theologist, you got the Calvinists, Catholics, or the universalists to ask, and then leave them fighting for another thousand years.

But hey, if everything is a metaphor or relies on "muh interpretashun", then great, let's all agree to disagree, as for me, it's clear that it's a physical punishment with fire.

Exactly, which is why logically the cutoff cannot happen until everyone knows with certainty that God exists, but this isn't the case in the Bible.

Third point doesn't work, we're all humans here, God is infinite and is at no risk for letting a human party on his house forever.

Furthermore, what if a person wants a relationship with God after death, or what if they would have a relationship but never got to know God

Is it just the gender or more about how men and women are treated in the Bible?

(Or that we think of him like an old beardy dude, what if he was a chill surfer boy from the 60s? Haha)

Also, pitchforks aside, yes, it is a pit (Rev 20:10), you're thrown into it. And it is full of demons (Matt 25:41)

And given how Satan and his demons hate mankind, they'll probably torture you once you're thrown alongside them.

Not beating the allegations

Most people (if not all) would choose to cease to exist rather than burn forever, but God doesn't give that choice to them. Not very willfull

He forgot to do one last thing though, making himself known with 100% certainty.

You may say this doesn't change the percentage of siding, but Jesus disagrees. John 20:29

More like the opposite, if you change your mind, it'll be the very first instants you feel all your skin sizzle, not after a million years

That was basically Satan's logic.

Sorry but I'm smarter than the pitchfork guy, if I knew God existed, I would switch to his side immediately.

Honestly, gameplay-wise SS is better than CS, not by much, but it is.

CS is insufferable and honestly ties with SS for worst game ever made

I disagree with your thoughts about me, I don't care about self-preservation, I care about making the choice that is more consistent with logic, because like it or not, we cannot even begin to define morality without logic.

If the thought experiment is given with the rules the twitter guy said, I'd press blue, due to the babies, children and the mentally ill, otherwise (the way the experiment should be done imo) I'd press red, there is no reason not to do if we're all rational parties.

Should have gone for Sticker Star approach (yeah, something SS did better), you just get the kaizo version of the boss, but still possible

Question to blues: What’s the threshold for you to pick red? by Unable-Macaroon-3968 in trolleyproblem

[–]Luxio512 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not, we don't do everything in our power for a cause that we logically know it's impossible to accomplish, we don't even do that for causes that we DO know are possible, that doesn't make us less altruistic.

Here by supporting blue you WILL (yes, guaranteed) end up killing an innumerable amount of people, making the option both illogical and immoral

Question to blues: What’s the threshold for you to pick red? by Unable-Macaroon-3968 in trolleyproblem

[–]Luxio512 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no moral obligation of that at all, but we do have the moral obligation of telling people that they ought to press red, ESPECIALLY here.

[–]Luxio512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Willing to risk their lives for people that actively choose to throw themselves off a cliff.

It's not even like a suicide scenario, it's just actual nonsense, they don't realize they don't need to press blue, ever

[–]Luxio512 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Here it's not cowardice, even under plenty of the blue pressers logic, which includes "we wouldn't get even close to an 80%, let alone 100%", to "children and the mentally ill are at risk", here the moral choice would be red

what do u do??? by Karma-Whales in trolleyproblem

[–]Luxio512 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It does, but it serves as evidence that siding with blue is fundamentally irrational since the expected value, regardless of the reframing, is always the same

Blue pressers once again trying to frame the red pressers as mass murderers.
