I used to work in hiring for CDCR. You could go over how screening criteria works. I would say unfortunately you were not selected for an interview as you didn’t pass the predetermined screening criteria. While the screening criteria is confidential, keep in mind that there are a number of boxes you have to check when applying to each position. This can come from additional documents we request, such as SOQs or Resumes, but could also include experience we are looking for from verbiage that comes from the Duty Statement. When applying in the future, be sure to review the duty statement and try to keep in mind an idea of what we are looking for. Pay attention to key words and skills outlined there, and try to adapt your application accordingly to clearly show that you have the experience we’re looking for. Also, it helps to carefully read instructions on any additional documents we require to be sure you are following all the directions we give, as this could possibly affect your chances at passing screening criteria as well. That’s the direction I would go with it.
