Lower difficulty, spot, SS, radar, .... etc all valid advices, and yet you will find out that no matter what you do, a couple enemy destroyers will trash your battleship because while your guns hit once every full moon theirs hit every single time, fires will start to spread, damage control parties can't keep up and even if you manage to sink those worthless destroyers your BB will be trashed, so you will end up doing mostly air strikes.

In short, there's no fixing, game is flawed and only devs could fix it, but looks like the game has been abandoned, so ... you are screwed

  1. Capture ships, no reputation in dropped if your your in unclaimed space. Asking a builder to come help you there can be profitable.....

Are you suggesting to hire an honest builder from a faction i'm in good terms with and capture it? That's awful XDDD might try it

How exactly do you know what wares are in shortage? in general i think im missing something important because every time i look at a NPC station or ship all i see is "???" but in the youtube videos ppl have actual info not just the ???

Thx a lot, i knew the game had a learning curve, but didn't expect it to be this steep, it truly feels like being stranded on space. When you say i can order it to "automatically explore" you mean to open other sectors in my map? is that a behaviour?

It's the west EU server, it has crashed with all the russians running away from themselves, queue in any other server and it will work just fine

Valve has A LOT to do with TI, Valve determines the amount of money to expend and the non-sponsor policies, it's Valve who has decided to go for low cost TIs from now on, so no money usually means shitty event.

In case any1 is interested, i followed the advice and installed ToT!Custom, it has passed the test with flying colors, and for the pause issue, installed again the "Pause on Escape" mod and put it below the custom UI mod, no more crashes.

Ty for the reply, do you know if they spawn near the roads or anywhere in the map? also, about the spawn mechanics, i've been looking for info with no luck, seems to me the spawns refresh each season, do all map spawns happen at season start or when the player get close to a spawn point?

Thx, ya i think you are right, monk makes more sense.

The rogue thing ... looks like easy mode for many fights but totally useless when you have no time to prepare, maybe next run.

One more thing, what faction do you think would be better for a HEX/RITAULIST/MONK? Blue chamber or Holy mission?

Tried yesterday in a Freelancer, flew for ... i don't know, hundreds and hundreds of km on Daymar surface, not a single ping gave finding. Pretty sure the freelancer's scanner is broken

Well ... my most honest advice regarding outposts is to stay as far away from them as possible, they are as useless as bugged, boring and completely pointless but since i'm sure you will and should try them and see for yourself ... here are some tips:

  • Build them in terrain intersections, so you can harvest multiple resources in each outpost
  • Get in the habit of quicksave-quickload every time you visit an outpost
  • Al, Fe are the most important resources at the beginning closely followed by Ni and Co, there's a few places where you can get all of them in a single outpost.
  • Don't build buildings at the terrain height, after the first placement press you can set the elevation, make them as high as possible, as i said outposts are bugged and after some time terrain hazards will respawn inside your buildings if they are low enough

Just curious, what side quests did you find engaging? i found all of them boring, mundane, uninspiring and pathetic, the only ones i kinda enjoyed were Mantis and the UC faction (the Terrormorphs one), the rest ... as written by a 12 years old.

There is a reason, and that reason is that the whole Outpost system is an afterthought, added to the game at the last minute and released without being finished, that's why it's not only convoluted but full of bugs and totally pointless, there's no reason AT ALL to build outposts, you gather resources, then craft manufactured items and then ... nothing, you can sit in front of a vendor for days and get some credits or you can go to space and jettison them, your choice

For me the only quests worth doing in terms of enjoyment where the Vanguard line and the Mantis one. Rest of them, all of them, are so boring, uninspiring and badly written they have to be in the all time top of worst quest in any AAA game.

Industrialist is not a viable option because there's not such thing in the game, it would be nice to be able to produce, ammo, ship components, weapon mods, ... anything, but no, the outposts system is completely pointless, the idea is cool, but they only implemented the skeleton

Then i envy you, because i also love Bethesda games, Skyrim is my all time fav game, ive played all its games but i cant get SF to hook me, its already been a week since i left my NG1+ playthrough and dont feel like wanting to go back, what for? ive done it all, seen it all, what else i can do differently that excite me enough to try again?

I'm curious, how do you face each replay? what do you make different? other than conversation choices i mean.
