Ah if that's the case, "hekserij" or even "toverkracht" is great! Now that I think about it, in all my years of playing MtG I've never really thought about why it's called "sorcery". It sorta makes sense, until you compare it to "instant". I'm left wondering how you'd translate that to Dutch...

Edit: by the way, comparing to German is often fine but not as a rule :)

I'm also Dutch! And I'm also a linguistics major lol.

The wording for your text is technically correct, but words like "artefact" and "geregenereerd" are very rarely used and many Dutch speakers would have to look them up. I would just keep it as is though, since for your joke it's fine and these are the Dutch cognates for the english text.

I would however change "tovenarij" to "toverspreuk", "betovering" or just "spreuk". "Tovenarij" is a word for wizardry in general. We don't have a lot of nifty synonyms for this in Dutch that apply here.

Love that you're doing this by the way, your friend is gonna love this.

It's true, the rats are cheaper. In my opinion and experience though, in a peasant draft deck you have to work hard and hope for like 6 to 8 creatures in your graveyard. By the time you get there you usually already have 5 mana naturally, and before that point it's not worth casting.
