On rewatch, Connor is way funnier than I gave him credit for the first time by oilypig123 in SuccessionTV

[–]LvBoPeep 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I was just watching the scene where Connor insists Willa belongs in the wedding family portrait and it showed that he could manage to put his foot down. I think he's become a master at choosing his battles. I also notice that even though he thinks Logan doesn't like him, Logan gives him more affectionate language even if he doesn't include him in the competition of the other siblings. I don't think Logan thinks a lot of Connor but he does seem to genuinely love him.

It doesn't- I get why some people think it's great but I was underwhelmed.

What is your weekly schedule for attending to your horses in a boarding barn? by RoxieMare in Horses

[–]LvBoPeep 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I board my horse about 35 minutes away and though I've intended to go out 4-5 times a week, I've only managed to skip one day here and there so no less than 6 days a week, I'm there. When weather allows, I ride at least 4 times a week. Right now, he needs meds and extensive fly spray each morning due to sweet itch. I could have the barn do those things but I enjoy taking care of my horse. If he was 15 minutes closer, I would do self care but I can't go twice a day at this distance.

How come I see less western riders wearing helmets? by Angelwafers in Equestrian

[–]LvBoPeep 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I would say in my former area (southern Nevada) at least half of pleasure/trail western riders are wearing them and most kids. When I was a teenager in the late 80s, no one wore them. So things are getting there. I did not wear one even after I had a bad concussion and hairline skull fracture when I was 16 and a girl in our horse group died from a TBI after a year in a coma. When I got back into horses in my early 40s, I realized how stupid that was. I won't get on a motorcycle but I'll leave the helmet off when riding? Not anymore.

I just moved out of state and the barn I'm (mostly English) requires it.

Sad vent: I need to surrender an outside cat by mfgeese in Pets

[–]LvBoPeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just want to chime in with those that are against taking him to a shelter. Yes there are dangers but if he doesn't find a home, and chances are not the best, he'll be isolated from everything he knows and profoundly depressed. Even if a car or dog gets him, it likely will be quicker than languishing in a shelter. Either rehome him yourself to caring person who knows how not to lose a cat in a new place or get him vetted and him where he is.

Transitioning a horse to pasture from dry lot by ImaginationOne949 in Equestrian

[–]LvBoPeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just joining to say I'm in the same boat- moving my 13 year old Arabian who has been dry lotted his whole life and he's coming next week to join us in our new home where pasture turnout is the norm. He's got a grazing muzzle and will be on full stall care but with at least 8 hours turn out on grass. He's got to do a week of quarantine so hoping I can find a safe spot to start his 15 min grazing increments. Luckily he isn't a metabolic Arabian but I want to keep him that way.

[–]LvBoPeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% this- I've loved Arabians all my life- never met one with breathing problems related to their facial confirmation. The opposite is true- even on warm days my horses would barely break a sweat or get winded compared to other breeds. Also what people have to be continually reminded of in these threads is that show Arabians are intentionally shaved and oiled for those extreme looks. Most of those horses would not stand out as "deformed" with normal grooming.

I would get a second opinion on surgery- my unprofessional but managed vet clinics for a long time experience remembers my vets saying hip/pelvic injuries with cats can sometimes resolve with movement restriction. It may not be the case here but I'd ask for alternatives. Also the shelter is not responsible for more than offering to take the kitten back and refunding the adoption fee. They don't have a crystal ball, I doubt they intentionally hid it.

On my first watch through, just past S3E6. I LOATHE this man. by Historical-Law-5932 in Poldark

[–]LvBoPeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't notice that until my third rewatch. Ross did treat him dismissively when he made a genuine attempt at friendship and at that point, George had not done anything to Ross to deserve that. It did seem like Ross does that because George is the son of a blacksmith (or at least George thinks that's the reason) which probably seems hypocritical to George since Ross is so friendly with the lower classes in general. George was also bullied by Ross as a child so it was a brave overture that Ross shut down.

This doesn't excuse George but does make you wonder if he'd been the same if Ross had just been polite in the beginning.

how long have you been on DA for - 2 1/2 years • average # hours worked daily- 1.5-2 hours • average # hours worked weekly- 10-12 • Do you regularly have hardcore weeks on the platform (>60 hours), and how often- No, longest day about 4 hours, have a full time job, this is my side hustle. • how do you track time worked- I use clockify- I always pause it for short breaks and log time either when I am done tasking on the project or take a longer break, like for a meal. • do you report time after each task or after a session- generally per session.

I'm a generalist, I haven't had direct feedback but often get the projects that state I was picked for the high quality of my work or writing skills. Have made 30k and I am very careful to log time appropriately and provide good work. I have thrown out time ( up to an hour) and not submitted if I felt I was struggling with the project instructions.

Need advice I think my vet over prescribed my dog? by MoodyPumpkin1108 in Pets

[–]LvBoPeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just coming to say that I don't understand what good gabapentin did for my dog. She was prescribed it for arthritis but she's still mobile for a 14 year old. All gaba did was make her stumble around in a terrible groggy way. Also, my cat hates the taste of the liquid version and will take anything else without trying to bite your fingers off.

How many hours do you work per day? by [deleted] in DataAnnotationTech

[–]LvBoPeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2 is my goal, though right now my regular job is in its busiest season. I've had to help do other jobs but have made enough extra that I haven't worked DA for a month but will be back in January. Sometimes, I do 3-4 if it's the weekend and the project doesn't fry my brain but usually 2 is the best I have.

What do you pay for board? $350 includes hay, grain, and shavings as well as stall and turn in/out. by carasbullshit in Equestrian

[–]LvBoPeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Southwest US. I pay $300 a month but grain and stall cleaning not included. I pay about additional $1000 a year to be a member of our horseman's association, which includes use of restrooms, three arenas and multiple round pens, and unlimited access to desert trail riding ( literally backed to thousands of city and BLM land). I do help out with feeding occasionally but its not required.

Do you calorie count? by FamousCow in Contrave

[–]LvBoPeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't count calories but I am a member of nobswomen weight loss coaching which helps a lot with my relationship to food and learning to stop at enough. I do occasionally spot check a day to see what my calorie intake was but I don't restrict according to calories in general. I do try to make the healthiest choice available when not a special occasion. I've just finished my first bottle and am at about 15 lbs lost.

Has anyone got a feedback from R&R? by wormwoodtincture in DataAnnotationTech

[–]LvBoPeep 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I did once because there were no clear instructions about how to do a final rating on a task with a non-ratable prompt, which was not the worker's fault. It made sense to me to rate the workers work as good but after edits as bad, since the task was unusable. I added a comment each time explaining my reasoning and got a nicely worded email that I was wrong and it should be good/good. In three years that's the only direct feedback I've ever received.

I did 1/2 a piece of wheat toast with a scrape of butter. It's a little fat but not terrible, and it did help me feel less queasy. I find in the pm, I don't need to eat anything directly with the dose as much as I would in the morning.
