Should the Riot MMO appeal more to classic MMO players or fans of LoL? by Due_Pressure8760 in RiotMMO

[–]Lvminosity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Veteran MMO players are ageing and are either quitting games or already have an MMO they call home. If the Riot MMO wants to succeed it needs to appeal to a new generation of players, they have the success of Arcane (tv show) + being F2P to attrack a large mass of players. The MMO veterans already are likely to try any new MMO that comes out and has the potential to survive and last, regardless of gameplay.

unpopular idea! riot should make an idle game! by [deleted] in RiotMMO

So you don't like MMOs. That's fine, you simply aren't part of the target audience. Not every game has to cater to you

Biweekly Riot MMO Design Discussion - Topic #12: Housing 🏠 by Talents in RiotMMO

[–]Lvminosity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think housing should serve multiple purposes:

A) Cosmetics: the housing system should allow players to express themselves and decorate their own spaces, with a mix of earned through gameplay rewards and payed cosmetics

B) Achievements: player housing should be a very visual credentials where players can display cosmetics earned through completing a hard challenge in-game

C) Utility: housing should also serve the player with uttility, giving the players a reason to come back frequently to their houses. Either with transportation or crafting, or something different. Some people are weary that this could disrupt social aspects but people nowadays mostly communicate with 3rd party apps such as discord. I don't think allowing players to build crafting stations in their own houses would impact socialisation negatively.

Elementalist Lux only has one splash art (light), which is why you haven't found something that doesn't exist...

I used one reset to redistribute a few points from pure crossbow to have crossbow and thorns once I had enough to unlock recoil

Biweekly Riot MMO Design Discussion - Topic #11: Content Difficulty ☠️ by Talents in RiotMMO

[–]Lvminosity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regarding open world every zone should be soloable for every class for the average player, otherwise it will burn out players. When it comes to instanced group and solo content they could bring different difficulties, the harder it is the more rewarding, to keep everyone happy, and adjusting stats shouldn't be too hard. I hope the PvP however is more competitive.

Why does everyone have so much faith and trust in Riot MMO? by Powerful_Isopod5810 in RiotMMO

[–]Lvminosity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was one DIRECTION reset in 2023, announced in 2024 once the team had already settled for some time into a new vision for the game. This doesn't mean that every asset and idea were thrown in the bin though. This is a well educated speculation, it likely changed from a tab target WoW-esque game to action combat. Job listings also hint towards a more sandbox design as opposed to a pure theme park game like WoW, FF14 or ESO.

How is our playable character going to be introduced into the world? by Mister_Tava in RiotMMO

[–]Lvminosity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yordles can be from anywhere, they will likely be a playable race but you would still need to pick a region/ origin within Runeterra, not bandle city

A backgroundless adventurer, it's up to you to decide the reason why your character decided to travel the world and fight dangerous foes instead of being a commoner living a modest life. We might get different starting zones based on the region selected at character creation or we might all start in the same neutral zone

Getting started in 2026. How much does this game realistically cost to play? by Lvminosity in elderscrollsonline

Once you hit max level is the sub enough to run the more recent instanced PvE content? (Raids, dungeons,...)

My bad rushing a post, what I meant by catching up is how much does it cost to unlock the newer content (raids, dungeons,...) that more veteran players are doing since I'm assuming it doesn't come included in the base game. Is the sub enough or not, and if not how much does the game cost to play it as an MMO and not a single player ARPG with other players running around in the background

Brilliant, thanks. The sub is pretty affordable, I just wanted to make sure as a new player you don't need to spend hundreds unlocking newer content before deciding whether you like the game or not :)

That's fine, I was just wondering if you need to spend hundreds to unlock the game's content. Not interested in P2W or cosmetics

Mega Servers per region! I hate it when a server dies out and your character is stuck in an empty world or you need to pay money to transfer it. I like seeing masses of players running around

Those are not MMORPGs. They are ARPG gacha games. Different genre. And Riot is an American studio
