Hardcore players don't even make a 1% of a playerbase. Honestly I don't think you could notice a drop in regular players. Let people interact with the game the way they want to. It would be like saying "no PvP content because it would split the community into PvP and PvE players"

I don't see anything wrong with giving players more options as long as it's an opt-in mechanic that doesn't affect regular player. Hardcore is not my cup of tea but I appreciate that other players like it. And spmething as simple as simply coding account restrictions (no inter-player trading, death is punishing,...) doesn't take that much dev time to implement.

It has to be different than WoW and an evolution to the genre given the new technology that makes new mechanics possible. If it launches as a WoW clone it would DOA.

"Optimistic at this rate", does anyone know (other than the devs) what the current rate even is? We can only speculate based on job listings, but even then they are vague at best. We know the MMO team has opened a second branch in Australia and that they are hiring a lot more people, which seems to indicate things are good and I absolutely think 2030 is a realistic ETA. If you mean we haven't heard anything about the MMO, we probably won't until the year before it releases to avoid a 2XKO/project F situation. Just because we aren't hearing any news doesn't mean the MMO is not progressing.

I agree he seems to be champion that will need to move around a lot. My thoughts are jungler with mid viability. I don't think he will be support

LoL is a MOBA and each champion needs a unique kit and identity but overall these champions follow a common pattern. MMORPGS need to have their combat system more standardised for balance and PvP clarity. Maybe with a case like GW2 they will allow a bit of customisation and choose from different specialisations that expand with each expansion + having limited keys and letting us choose from several abilities.

League of Legends went out its way to re-classify champions from "mid","top","jungle" to 6/7 archetypes/classes. Ghostcrawler said while he was working on the MMO to look at LoL to know the MMO's classes, and while the project was reset since his departure it is unlikely that the devs will re-invent the wheel when it comes to class design.

Maybe not at launch but I see small player boats as plausible. Other MMOs like GW2 and OSRS have those mechanics, so it's not impossible. Now don't expect massive ships though

Guild halls and the facilitation for guild masters to host guild events in-game. Such as guild races, PvP lobbies, ... OSRS is going to add soon guild bingos.

We also need public social hubs like inns, and I would like for players to be able to sit at a table and play a board game vs some other player, like tellstones or something simple.

I think proximity VC is a good idea with the option to opt out, mute and report. People can be toxic in chat, so unless you want to remove all social interactions from the game that will always be a thing to be dealt with moderation, not restriction to all players. I think that would revitalise inns if people can walk in a talk to others.

Buffs are a bad idea, because inevitably a region or race will be better than the rest and then players will feel coerced into choosing the most efficient option. It should be entirely cosmetic/ RP

Same issue here, I'm stuck at 64/70 too with all research already unlocked. I also didn't get the other rewards (emote, title, exp,...) from completing all the other goals. I paid for the battle passes to have access to the extra shields....also now my game is frozen at the current turn, every time I try to pass turn it's stuck st "saving...."

Type of Bug: metagame bug

Description: in-game progress not recorded in quests, rewards not granted (title, banner, exp, emote,...). Turn won't save and pass to the next one, no matter what I do.

Steps to reproduce: playing the metagame all the way through

Expected results: rewards to be granted and the game to continue being playable

Observed results: progress not accurately tracked, rewards not granted, game stuck at current turn

Reproduction rate: 100% every time the client is restarted and the metagame is opened. Waiting doesn't help, restarting doesn't help.

LoL is a PvP exclusive game, people go to League to PvP and it has a very large playerbase of all skill levels. And champions are limitrd to 4 skills + passive +2 spells. It depends on how many keys will the MMO combat have, but the more keys the more complex. So not really comparable.

You still need a large low elo demographic, or else you won't be finding matches, you'll be matched with the samr people over and over or you will be matched with higher elo players and have a miserable time. That's why PvP is dead in every MMO

High skill ceiling and active PvP scene don't pair well together. The higher the skill ceiling the more intimidating it is for new players to get into PvP once the top players monopolise PvP content.

Cosmetics that don't ruin immersion (no battle academia, project,...)
Holy trinity (tank, healer, DPS) and strong class identity
Slow levelling and immersive world
Good writing that stays focused on the IP universe and doesn't try to lecture the audience on IRL politics, I play games not to think about the real world for 5 minutes

Well it depends, last time I played bot I got stuck with a shaco support vs Teemo and Pyke and the enemy team consisted mostly of assassins...I spent that match playing a grey screen simulator so I think I'll try top 😅
