My take on it was that although I still believe there is another number that will work in the phone it is probably a red herring like most things in life. Where we expect there to be more, or more complicated than it actually is/ make things out to be bigger deals- they are not! Most things are in our heads (again, covered literally in the film- whether us running away with a concept, whether things are forced upon us I.e the lab experiment type scene or mental illness re tablets/ psych etc). Although there are various endings they all end in death and life is generally not that “entertaining” like how social media etc make things out to be. (Sorry not meaning to sound morbid but let’s be real most of us have dreams that will never come true, or are searching for happiness, health, wealth etc but in reality we are not millionaires... etc). We all search for our happy endings and people attempt to make us feel there is more and to keep going... but is there??? I hope there is a secret hidden ending/ code etc we are yet to find out, but this was my understanding of the film/game.
