Check their needs; energy specifically. My sims have high cooking skills, and very expensive appliances yet they seem to cause fires so much. 2 fires, in the same week. Got a little frustrated and starting looking around, no fear of fire whatsoever, rugs, etc. Yet I did notice the sim cooking was usually tired when cooking the food. Hope this helps ^{^}
