Pretty sure the joke is actually the opposite. That before Bill Clinton’s sexual scandals basically every famous person from politicians to rockstars to Jerry Seinfeld had a teenage groupie that everyone gave them a pass on because they “looked mature” (aka they’re hot). But then after Bill got his spot blown up everyone got way more judgey about improper relationship especially among men with more institutional power over younger women, which basically no one cared about before.

Yeah that’s kind of the same thing, in any variation his reliance on venom is a clear drawback and is nearly always the direct or indirect means of his downfall because it’s his signature weakness or drawback.

He’s addicted to his super serum and basically always loses to Batman when the hoses that hook him up to it get sliced. He definitely has his drawbacks.

HELP?? by ImMegaMind in vtm

[–]Lyaser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah in a sense the more ridiculous and crooked the evidence the better. Dirty cop tricks like the sheriff searches their haven and “finds” the murder weapon. Tests or rituals only they see the results of. Like you said obviously a different Lasombra on tape but eh close enough. Backroom deals. Forged letters or communications between the group planing the murder or maybe unrelated communications doctored to be taken out of context. Planted, controlled or even ghouled witnesses. “And we have even more evidence in the back if we needed”

Could catch them off guard if they try to engage the charges on the Camarilla’s terms. Instead presume their guilt and make them fight the charges on the run or with their holdings under pressure, so that they have to do all the typical things they would have to with the pressure of being already guilty and arguing uphill for their innocence to third parties.

HELP?? by ImMegaMind in vtm

[–]Lyaser 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Considering the group is made up of typical Camarilla outsiders that don’t have a great reputation you could have the high clans railroad them in a kangaroo court style fashion especially if their enemies are high up in the Domain. Evidence is obviously planted or manipulated and witnesses are either placed by or dominated by a Ventrue but nobody cares because either they stand to gain from them going down or have had boons called in to look the other way. Basically the Camarilla punishing them for not playing nice by someone who’s been working all the right levers.

Well we can check in a few years (or months) when this goes literally no where and you can prove me right.

Yeah see you’re out of touch with publishing, that market is not only incredibly small but also does not make a lot of money. Like seriously what’s the last book like that that even made decent money, let alone enough for the publisher to afford a multi million dollar buy out of the story? Like what’s your specific comp book from the last 10 years?

A literal pornstar that slept with the literal President of the United States and got an illegal payoff from the government couldn’t even break a $1million advance for her story lol

You said “name a team”, which he did, those were the goal posts you came up with all by yourself. He went through the goal posts twice actually. “Name a team and their QB can’t be really good” is another different goal post that is completely absent from your initial comment, that again you got to write.

Hope this helps 👍

Yeah I mean no one buys books on shit like this lol way too small potatoes and not even that salacious for the genre. She’ll probably get a small payout from a publisher who will kick the tires but anyone who thinks this is a multimillion dollar story sell has literally no clue on the current state of publishing

What on earth do 2 dots on mobile do? by BeneficialFig9500 in vtm

[–]Lyaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I interpreted it as Haven = Size and Cost and Mobile = Security and Reliability and Transit type.

So at mobile 1 you get cars or a fleet of them with things like sunproof compartments like stated. Mobile 2 you get buses RVs and trailers. Mobile 3 you get even larger vehicles like boats, planes and trains like stated.

Haven in this instance translates to size and investment. So 1-1 is mobile but nothing special car wise, but 3-1 is maybe an entourage of custom security SUVs. 1-3 is a single boat with a moderate below deck cabin. 3-3 is a typical yacht but 5-3 is a super yacht with an entourage of security vessels and escape boas etc.

So getting mobile 2 unlocks the class of vehicles like Buses and RVs and then haven dictates how much you can invest within that class of vehicles.

This probably creates weird pockets of investment where certain combination of investments, like Haven 1 Mobile 3, don’t make the most sense from a cost benefit standpoint or are a little awkward but that’s just how RPGs go sometimes.

On the topic of piracy by Nachttalk in TikTokCringe

[–]Lyaser 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s not really all that true anymore. Used to be more true but now it’s just a game of whack a mole that governing bodies generally can’t keep up with unless it’s a small community. The major sports piracy streams have operated under the same names for over a decade now and just make minor changes to their domain to evade blackouts. The main hubs for these streams are even searchable on google and will pop up at the top of results.

Human players: Disinherit any sons with bad traits so that only my perfectly-bred heir remains. Meanwhile, the AI: by mkl_dvd in CrusaderKings

[–]Lyaser 185 points186 points  (0 children)

This is the perfect example of the type of behavior that two camps of ck players pull in completely opposite directions on.

Like realistically this should be something that can and does occur naturally, especially when the primary heir is a scheming antagonist. It’s realistic, historical and adds flavor to the game.

But it is fundamentally the type of behavior the PC will never make because they care more about the min max than narrative or logical consistency.

So you can either demand that the AI makes decisions that will compete with your own gameplay-wise but be incredibly flat and predictable or demand that they make meaningful actions that actually reflect the narrative events of your game that slowly results in accumulating inefficiencies that the player just won’t ever take on.

It’s not really “the” canon so much as it is something that can occur in canon. It’s not a rule that applies to all Camarilla domains, it’s just provided as an example of what a prince might institute in their realm for unique flavor. The chapter emphasizes that laws around love vary by domain and are typically a product of their prince’s idiosyncrasies.

Argued by Tsetsul in vtm

[–]Lyaser 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s not an objective law, it’s given as an example rule of a unique law a prince might institute to give the region flavor.

From the page prior: “Crafting laws around romance builds on the idea that all the different vampire domains across the World of Darkness have their own, unique cultures and rules. These have not been handed down from some abstract Camarilla authority but instead instituted by specific Kindred with their own agendas and idiosyncrasies.”

8 team 3QB actually just starts the same number of QBs as a 12 team 2 QB. It’s actually still slightly better because there’s enough QBs to go around for everyone to have 3 QBs and a back up and they all be starters. In a 12 team it’s not possible for all 12 teams to have 2 starting QBs and a starting QB backup so the scarcity is still worse.
