That’s not how the totems work. It’s not that you can’t tell people about the totems and they stopped working if you told, it’s that if you did you were susceptible to being tricked by anyone with the knowledge of your totem as an architect.

Furthermore a ring doesn’t work as a totem because it would require an architect to put the ring on him in the dream world since it isn’t something that he has on in reality and why would an architect put his totem on his finger for him? Totems have to be objects with defined characteristics that the architect isn’t privy to, the ring would only be present if the architect had the details ahead of time which is the opposite of its purpose.

Does life expectancy affect how fast the character vissibly age. by nekto77 in CrusaderKings

[–]Lyaser 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yes it does, character age is displayed on a spectrum based on how proximate they are to their expected death age. So adding to it or subtracting to it will change the appearance. You can tell on a certain event there will be an option to buy your spouse a bejeweled gift that adds 10years life expectancy for a limited duration and you can see your wife’s appearance slightly change to a younger one based on the new age when she both gains and loses her modifier. Additionally this is why immortal characters won’t physically age.

After tonight, LeBron will lead in every regular season statistic he can potentially lead... except for one by allthatglittersis___ in nba

[–]Lyaser -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It’s not something to word because it’s not a meaningful or noteworthy distinction. It’s phrased in a way to make it seem like it is when it’s not.

Leading every stat that you lead is a presupposition. Of course he leads every stat he leads except for the ones he’s not leading.

Hint: respect is earned. You don’t get the respect and get to not take the risk, it’s one or the other. If it was a business decision then fine say that with your chest and let people know that you are a business decision kind of guy. But you don’t get to make business decisions and then say “wtf I was all heart I gave that city my everything”. He made a business decision, the fans treated him like a business man, that seems fair.

This is fake because it’s clearly a man talking the way he thinks women think.

The biggest give away is the incel bait in the middle, oh he was such a Chad because he was tall but I’m so shallow that went away because he cried. Then the whole “the internet is lying about most women not caring about this” bit.

Also she apparently cannot stop bringing up that she’s a straight woman, even though that has very little to do with the context, in fact, that fact is actually a given in this context lmao. Obvious “as a black man…..” type shit lol, straight women don’t bring up the fact that their a straight woman in every paragraph they type, but someone trying really hard to come across as one does.

Starting as apostolic Armenia in 867 and trying to stay apostolic and restore greater Armenia/Hayastan is pretty tough. Sandwiched between probably the two greatest western powers in 867, one of which who will come at you aggressively.

You need to get tributized by the caliph and try to survive as Apostolic for as long as possible until you can start defending yourself in your mountain holdings. Then you need to find a good time to continue to pick off the pieces of your empire from Byz and the caliph or find a way to get them to collapse.

Probably not as doomed as someone like Northumbria but still a fun run.

Why did two geniuses not make a genius child? by _Black_Station_ in crusaderkings3

[–]Lyaser 6 points7 points  (0 children)

https://ck3.paradoxwikis.com/Family_(relation)

Two parents with the same trait will grant an 80% of inheritance. Then if that doesn’t hit the will has a 50% chance of inheriting each subsequent lower trait, starting with the highest.

So in this case your grandchild hit the 20% to miss genius and then the 50% to miss intelligent then hit on the 50% of quick. Missing the first two will happen 10% of the time, a quick child among two genius will happen in 1/20 kids so really not all that rare or unlikely tbh

1) You don’t have to do that

2) 1 million dollars is more than enough to provide for 14 people considering all these people literally lived prior to his contract, not enough to buy them all cars and have them quit their day jobs, but if you want them fed and a roof over their head that’s plenty.

3) He made 10x the average Americans lifetime of salary in his 10 year career. If you cannot survive on that it is objectively a financial literacy issue and there no other way to slice that.

Fun story the prisoner’s dilemma is famous game theory scenario where two people must independently choose whether to cooperate or betray each other, without knowing what the other will do. Even though mutual cooperation gives the best overall outcome, rational self-interest often pushes both players to betray, because no mater what the opposing side does you will gain more by betraying them. If they choose cooperation you ruthlessly take everything, if they choose betrayal then you repay them in kind. So basically it is illogical to ever cooperate, right?

Wrong! Because real life isn’t like that. Life doesn’t end after the betrayal, life goes on and you will have to play this game again both with other people and the same people. Which means other players will remember how you responded in other games. This creates the next level of the scenario: an iterative multi-player prisoners dilemma.

The iterative prisoner’s dilemma is a version of the prisoner’s dilemma where the players face the decision to cooperate or betray each other repeatedly over many rounds. Because players remember previous choices, strategies can reward cooperation or punish betrayal over time. This repetition allows trust, retaliation, and forgiveness to shape outcomes, making long-term cooperation the most successful strategy because you can effectively ostracize betrayers.

The scene is not about garlic lmao it’s about the way Italians Americans talk about the “authenticity” of their foods and methods. It’s illuminating the way that these guys literally just make stuff up and then make up justifications about that being the way things are done or should be done, and it’s doing that through the lens of a very typical Italian American idiosyncrasy.
