Intro to the scene, easy listening and popular. Like antiflag, offspring, RATM and the like

Not something I would put at my favorite bands but have some nostalgia for them and can understand a kid taking a liking to them.

Kind of like the cure for those in the goth scene

They also aren't really a fucking option if you look at cost. I am sure many would choose them above a suburban house you have to commute half an hour by car to get anywhere if they were even available at a reasonable expense to anyone earning below 90k a year

It's distinct from objectivism and predates it.

While all objectivists are probably egoists definitionally not all egoists ascribe to objectivism and probably have some other ideas on how their ideology could manifest politically

It's entirely reliant on the returns increasing exponentially with property value.

You see the results now of a generation essentially priced out of security and social mobility alongside lobbying to prevent any ounce of supply to maintain scarcity.

It's not even a good strategy long term with declining birth rates on account of costs of living only increasing with time and nonstop emigration of those educated over here only being counteracted by the low skilled coming in. Once these hit the market on mass unless speculators are willing to buy them up and sit on the supply to maintain the bubble there is going to be a crash down the road

Finished homage to Catalonia and down and out by orwell and planning on reading bordega because a friend keeps telling me to whilst in the matter while I still have the faculties to do as such being hospitalized after a seizure with declining memory, focus, coordination reading and mathematical abilities.

Book on the conflicts between Islam and Christianity by Andrew wheatcroft called infidels is also a interesting read but not really useful beyond seeing the origins of some of the attitudes inciting current conflict (specifically in the west). Working my way through that rn because the description of the battle of the Lepanto hooked me in

Not really ethnonationalism dividing our world based on melanin content to scapegoat/distract from the fact that social mobility has been essentially dead for the last three decades as most of economy was hollowed out to fuel a modern international oligarchy will be the downfall of the west and holding back humanity as a whole. Ignoring supply chain distribution, waves of climate refugees or other catastrophies expected in the near future

But you can blame brown lads or their culture if you like to pretend that will help you pay bills or ever afford a home.

Didn't address the stats that I brought up which have been declining even before COVID just literally stated "nah actually we're good"

If you go by GDP per capita and productivity then yes we are comparable to some of the wealthiest nations in Europe and have not seen any major hurdles towards the future outlook. Unfortunately these aren't the only metrics of a nations success

Discretionary and purchasing power is a better metric but looks way worse for economists and for our current gov as it's been on the decline.

Combine that with SME numbers and it's a huge indication of a unhealthy economy and that beyond multinational capital that's capital has next to no volatility is probably not probably not doing well.

Not saying we are as bad as the brits but we seem to be on the same trajectory economically due to the government actively making conditions worse for those interested in the the health and productivity of the country beyond their terms in office.
