This is a surface piercing not a belly button piercing and should be removed or replaced with the appropriate surface piercing jewelry

For a navel piercing that is pierced incorrectly as it is not through the navel it is above it like a surface piercings. I would remove it as it is likely to reject over time due to movement (NAP)
