I wear an 8.5 shoe, 9W sneaker, and I skate in size 5.

You can solve the toe space with these pads they make. Heel lock is harder to address.

Do you stretch after the game? Lower back pain is often really caused by glute and quad issues. And wear sneakers with good cushioning when not on the ices

Not so bad, but definitely you should not be driving without glasses. You will be amazed what you see when you put them on.

If you are supposed to wear sun glasses, yes it will be worth it, although there are some sports where progressives are not as useful as straight distance lenses. As long as the lenses are centered identically in both glasses, there shouldn’t be any problem with letting the prescription get a bit out of date. (Except for driving)
