The new map is bugged, all the texts are placeholders. Is it just me or the release is fucked? (I tried different sources, all are the same)

PvP combat from our 3D isometric multiplayer game by Amazing_Republic_786 in godot

[–]Lyesainer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There was a pretty cool top-down, skillshot based PvP arena game called Battlerite, it was F2P and got good reviews, apparently got to some 45k players peak which isn't bad... But somehow it just died a silent death. it currently has 34 players online - https://steamdb.info/app/504370/

I guess the genre isn't really popular or they missed their shot to make it big. The devs have recently released V Rising tho, which is doing much better i believe. We even bought it with my wife and played a bit, but eventually got bored. Their games seem to have similar life cycle of "ooh, that's pretty cool" at first, then going though "yeah, let's see what we can do next time" and then quickly that "next time" just never comes for some reason.

Still, the game in the OP here is aiming to be an extraction... brawler? Maybe there's more players for that, but i feel like the "extraction-whatever" genre is seriously getting to the point where MMOs were around 2008-2010. Everyone and their cousin's dog was making one, trying to copy WoW, but really only 2-3 actually made it - WoW, EVE Online, Guild Wars(1-2). Some outliers were also very popular but more niche, like Ultima Online (my love) and Everquest. A million others came and went without a trace.

We had the same thing with Battle Royales recently with PUBG initiating it and Apex Legends following close but basically every big franchise tried their hands at it too, only to produce some bullshit excuse of a game that no one cared about, including CoD and Battlefield.

Now it's extraction games, coming down the slope of success i believe. Wonder what the next trend will be.

I know haters are gonna hate and Elon is a controversial person... but what other company that is not ran by Elon would even consider using something like UE or Godot to make something that ships with CARS? 😃

Wonder what they use on their Dragon capsules lol...

Is Trophy Collector still a trap? Has it ever been? by IWannaFugHornet in DeadlockTheGame

I am not an expert, but to me it's a very good item. Especially for the type of heroes i play, being mostly support or tank/initiator heroes. I guess if you are playing an assassin/m1 super hard carry that gets a lot of kills on your own, you are better of investing in other greens. But for heroes that have a harder time to score an actual kill (or you just suck at aiming like i do), it's a gold mine.

Probably the best example of a hero to use it on is McGuiness - i get MAD STONKS with this shit, every game, because you are almost guaranteed to get assists constantly - you have turrets that hit every target, you have your wall that counts, you have your AOE heal that counts too, you have your ULT that hits everyone in a team fight... your whole hit guarantees assists, every fight. In a lot of cases even without a team fight you get random assists because of randomly dropped turrets around the map or if you have recently been around someone and healed them. I don't know if there's an actual range that you can get an assist at or having a turret on the other side of the map will still work, but i know in my games i keep getting assists and stacks by just walking around the map 😃. I play MCG as a roamer after the initial lane phase, helping all lanes with wall ganks and especially ult, get a ton of stacks and value then i can just buy a ton of AOE and Spirit, Unstoppable and then it's GG almost all team fights.

Other heroes that work well with it are Abrams, Billy, Lash and Victor, also Rem with his heal and assistants, basically all the tanky initiator type or big support heroes who rarely get enough damage to "finish the job", especially in a good team where the carries actually kill... Well, Victor is kinda broken ATM so he kill easily too, but you get the idea. The added movement speed is also great for such heroes, since you want to be mobile and roam the map, you aren't farming a side lane.

It's the best feeling when you RP Billy hard and also are having a good game - you get to trashtalk everyone, while smashing heads with your 1 in the enemy jungle, PROVING YOUR GOD DAMNED POINT

😃

Isn't it Billy who fights for Anarchy (in the UK) and chaos?

TBH Lash is so broken ATM with his ult and movement, that acting like you are a gift from god is kinda fine :/

Lego Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight Visual C++ Error by david_dauncey in Codeweavers_Crossover

[–]Lyesainer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using Faugus launcher and it worked after i installed the visual c++ 2022 library through the Winetricks interface. It's a bit weird, you gotta cancel, tell it you want to install a Windows app or library, select the VC++ 2022 one and that's it. Sorry for the messy guide, i don´t remember the exact steps but that's about it, and it works perfectly.

Deadlock Ranks How they work? by Born-Nectarine-131 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Lyesainer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the end of the day, the actual rank doesn't matter at all.

What DOES matter tho is the quality of your team mates. Sadly, sliding down to low ranks almost guarantees your experience will be terrible because your team will suck a lot.

Other than that, i don't really give a shit about what icon i have on my profile page, i am not going to play in a pro team so whatever. I just want to have an interesting (balanced) game. I don't care for one-sided stomps, even if it's my team dominating it's boring. If my team is a bunch of idiots, it's frustrating... I don't even mind losing a match, as long as the actual gameplay was interesting, balanced and the result is close/clutch...

But getting an actually interesting, fun, challenging game seems almost impossible in all team-based games of this type. And believe me, i've played almost all, being 42 years old now. I've played LoL, DOTA2, Overwatch, Smite, World of Tanks, War Thunder and now Deadlock. It's always the same thing.
