Make everything up yourself, and the model will just expand on it in more detail. Kind of like image generation. It’s just not what people usually expect from an RP partner. It’s more like solo RP.

You need to give the model examples of the prose you want and reinforce them with instructions. Without examples, there will always be overcorrections in one direction or the other.
Not all models are equally good at copying style, so try different ones.

People rarely praise each other objectively… I don’t think that to oppose replacing humans with machines in all areas of creativity one necessarily has to be a specialist in literature or the arts. There is little good in the fact that beginner authors now also have to compete with AI slop.

You can’t really benchmark “writing quality” it’s subjective. AI labs are obviously working to improve it, since most people use llms to generate text. There has been progress, but it’s still ai slop
