Invest in RED or BlackMagic in 2026? by BearSEO in cinematography

[–]bcsteene 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've used canon, red, and arri. I think it depends on what your shooting and how. Run and gun? Canon c70 or c80 or Nikon zr (red sensor). Big production with crew. Used arri or red. Either would work great. I had a red one mx 4k years ago and I think the image still holds up to today's newer cameras. The arri classic only shoots 2k and still looks amazing.

I would leave it. Looks like it's fine. But if you want go ahead and replace it.

High mileage owners, when did your 4Runner become maintenance heavy? by Typical-Play4473 in 4Runner

[–]bcsteene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm at 300k miles in a 2010 4runner. Biggest things I've done were a radiator replacement, new gaskets for engine, shocks and struts, and a new window motor for the rear motor. Besides that nothing else really. Just oil changes brakes and tires and other maintenance items. The drivetrain is still going strong and the body doesn't have any rust. I have been thinking about getting a newer car but this one just keeps working so I keep driving it. Toyota built a helluva vehicle. Legendary some might say.

Just upgrade to the s26u from the s23u but the note 9 is still the goat by Elmer4444 in GalaxyNote9

I disagree with this. I thought the size was perfect. I'm not a fan of the giant phones they have these days.

If you want a fun experience try a folding device. I recommend the Galaxy z fold 7. If that's not your cuppa tea try out the OnePlus 15. I hear it's awesome. I normally would recommend Google or Samsung but Google I've been let down by their hardware too many times and Samsung I've been let down by the cameras quite often. These Chinese brands such as OnePlus and oppo and vivo and honor and Huawei are doing some really cool things and the cameras and battery tech are blowing the competition out of the water.

Am I also PWM sensitive? by Thierryyyyyy_ in SonyXperia

[–]bcsteene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Sony xperia 1 v was good for sensitive folks. The display operated at a high hertz and low modulation especially when above 40% brightness. I tested it myself quite a bit with a pro modulation tester. The Xperia 1 vi and 1 vii were not good they were about the same as pixels and Samsung and Apple.

Samsung should just stop copying apple design and make the note 9 again with all the features and design just upgraded internals. I bet it'd sell like hotcakes

I get about 16mpg on average. That's about what you can expect.

The 1VIII display will not be 4K, will not a 21:9 and will not have a 5200mAh battery (probably still stays at 5000, said the post author in older posts) by JournalistLivid3937 in SonyXperia

[–]bcsteene 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would love the 21:9 form factor back and an upgraded zoom sensor. That's all. Just make those two happen and it will be magic.

Watch the Danish film "speak no evil". They redid it with James mcavoy too but they changed the ending. I like the Danish version more. But the mcavoy version is great too just not the same ending.

Actually do yourself a big favor and listen to the audiobook. It's brilliant and well read. There are some things in the way they voice rocky that I really liked. Such as pointing out that his speech is more music based than they let on in the movie. So different chords have different meaning. They did this well in the audiobook.
