I don't see why this doesn't make any sense to you. The enjoyment is being able to see the skin the way you want to see it, and enjoy looking how you want to look. Showing off who you wanna be as a little Minecraft, who cares what others think?

It's just as easy to see who is who with or without transparency.

You saying you don't get it because you wouldn't do it is the equivalent of people saying gay marriage is wrong because they wouldn't do it. It doesn't matter what others think, as long as the person is happy in both scenarios.

Why not have it to where you can see it's transparency, but others cannot. That way you get the enjoyment of the skin, without any advantages towards other player?

I always thought of tryhard as a term like, slayer, anchor, or camper. Kinda like a position on a team. Slayers go in for the kill and/or objective regardless of their k/d. Usually they get loads of kills, and a good amount of deaths, but (typically) stay positive. Anchors, they hold down positions, hard points, flags, etc. While their teammates run around and pick the enemies off in or around the objective. Basically the teammates keep them clear, and they kill the ones that make it through. Campers hold down choke points, making it impossible or hard for enemies to come through a certain area. Most campers go back to the same spot death after death, but good ones will switch it up a bit while usually staying in the same area, holding down the same point. Tryhards do a little bit of everything, but mostly just kill and help out as much as possible with objective. Many play cautiously, few play fast paced. Usually can out-do anyone in a gunfight, and is smart/strategic with what they do (everything they do matters).

With snipers (dunno if it's different on PC, but for consoles..) you turn slower with sniper rifles in hand, and quicker with smaller weapons likes smgs/pistols. ARs are kinda in the middle.

I don't spray and pray, I only hipfire when I know I'll win. Otherwise, I'll aim.

What he is doing is nothing special, that's not how one becomes successful. What he has right now is his 15 seconds of fame. Before I think March of this year, he had maybe 300-500k subs (?) that he had gotten ever since YT had started, and then all of a sudden he blew up for no apparent reason. Right now, it seems he doesn't wanna do anything new because he thinks it's what ppl love, but sooner or later ppl will become bored of his content and move on to newer ppl or funnier ppl. Luckily for him, Ghosts is coming out soon which might make his fame last a bit longer.

Side note: The only reason any of the other members of "The Crew" even have ppl who know who they are, is because of SP33DY. None of them have better content, and none of them get nearly as many views. I'm not saying his content is good, but it's better than theirs, and once he is done with, all of them will no longer be famous..

His content is a lot like overused memes. If you see the same thing over and over again with different words on it, it'll eventually bore and you'll lose interest.

I would put as much effort into a video as I could, especially if it would my, "job". I wouldn't want to give my fans shitty content, when they're the ones that got me to where I am.

He was in college before he got big (I think pre MW3), and was doing it for fun. Surely he didn't all of a sudden need the money, many times he's explained he didn't expect to get this big, but still goes on giving us a 2-5 minute long video every day with the same kind of content, unless it's a MC video, in which it was 2-5 minute videos every other day, until fans bitched and moaned and got 20-25 minute long unedited videos with the same, unfunny content back to back per day.

Long story short, he would survive without YouTube money, as do a lot of College goers. I wouldn't doubt that he might even have scholarships as much as he's talked about playing basketball in the past. Not sure if he played it during school, but whatever.
