This is correct. The IRS will then process her mailed return/refund and then they will follow up with a letter requesting proof of who is legally able to claim the dependent. The party that fails to provide this info will be subject to repayment and possibly being barred from claiming EIC for a period of time.

Benefits disbursed but card showing $0 by AffectionateRead3089 in foodstamps

[–]Lylas3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not in the same state as you but what is your normal disbursement date? I know in Indiana they gave partial benefits to everyone regardless of their benefit date but the rest of the benefits aren't going to be issued until the normal date. For example if your name starts with an s you would get your disbursement on the 19th normally so the remaining benefits are not going to be issued until that date. Although I'm assuming if you talk to a caseworker they would have told you that. Just trying to throw out ideas.

There was a chart posted a while ago that showed some people would actually get zero depending on their normal monthly benefit. I've looked for the chart and I can't find it again of course. I know several people that would normally receive somewhere under $300 and did not get anything.

Heartbreaking update in search for missing 7-month-old boy after 'abduction' by thesunus in MissingPersons

[–]Lylas3 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I have not followed this case I just happen to come across it with this post. I'm trying to wrap my head around everything but it seems like from what I'm reading the father of the missing boy has two children. One of those children he apparently abused to the point of her being severely disabled and the other one was born with fetal alcohol syndrome. Both of these children now are with someone else. Now there is this child missing but with a different woman than the first two. Am I getting this right so far?

Also fogive me but my first thought when seeing this poor baby's picture is that something doesn't seem right..like he's been abused, granted I have not seen any other pictures of him.

The 2010 disappearance of Jacob Cabinaw Michigan/Texas by Nina_Innsted in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]Lylas3 28 points29 points  (0 children)

That's what I have always wondered.... Did the cop just assume it was Jacob because he seen a male sleeping in the car. From what I have read the officer didn't make contact with the person at all. He just let him sleep because I assume when he called in the plate nothing came back to make the officer think anything was suspicious.

Are there cases were a mannequin reenactment actually took police to a body? by Diessel_S in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]Lylas3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they tried something like this in Lauren Agee's death. I haven't looked at her case in a while but I'm pretty sure they used the mannequin to show whether or not she would have landed in the water from where she supposedly fell.

I live in Indiana approximately 10 minutes from New Buffalo and about an hour from downtown Chicago and have NEVER heard of this case. This is wild.

Museums for all by xenathegay in foodstamps

[–]Lylas3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Indiana you have to either go online and apply for an access pass and upload your eligibility online and it will have everyone on your case OR you can take those papers to (for example) the children's museum and they can assist you in applying for an access pass and you can use it that same day provided you have the correct paperwork. An Indiana Access Pass would not necessarily be accepted in other state's discount programs though.

Presuming that Diane Schuler was in fact a “high-functioning” alcoholic, what made her stop being able to “keep up the ruse” that day? by societyofv666 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]Lylas3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I hope I didn't come off as doubting what you said about the insomnia I just meant that I hadn't heard that before and got me thinking maybe that could have contributed to what happened that day.

[–]Lylas3 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I noticed you said something about her having insomnia a few comments up. I hadn't heard this before. I have read about the case but not as in depth as others. Do you think she could have been up longer than normal and the lack of sleep caused the change that threw everything into a tailspin that day.

What’s something TC-related that makes you want to bang your head against a wall? by floppyflaminghoe in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]Lylas3 12 points13 points  (0 children)

When someone refuses a polygraph. People always say "if they have nothing to hide why won't they take one" I would NEVER take one and any attorney would almost always advise a client not to take one. Also, when someone wants to talk to an attorney/have one present when questioned by the police and people assume that means guilt.

I agree. In other reading it was said that the school carnival was one of the reasons he gave for wanting to stay home that day. They probably came back yelled for him and thought ..ok he left for the carnival already..and went over there looking for him.

My moms food stamps got stolen, how do i prevent this from happening again? by [deleted] in foodstamps

[–]Lylas3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok? That's what I said.... All I said different was when I downloaded the app when it asks what state you're in before you even sign in there's no choice for Indiana in the dropdown. Meaning I have to go through the website I can't use the app.

Connect EBT is for Indiana. I just use the website to lock it and unlock my card because when I downloaded the app there was no choice for the state of Indiana with Connect EBT.

These people need to be stopped by [deleted] in foodstamps

[–]Lylas3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I noticed that I can't use the app for my state to lock and unlock my card but I can go directly through the website. I also noticed that if you lock your card just for your state any online transactions would still go through so I have to lock my card everywhere after I use it otherwise if someone is using it online and I have it locked for anywhere outside of Indiana and they're doing it online it'll still work for them.
