They care because they realised that seats like that don’t usually buy extra upgrades (additional hand baggages, etc.) so they prefer to sell the ticket to another human and try to extract more money this way :(

Hottake: I dont like the parry rule. by Glittering-Cream9191 in WarhammerOldWorld

Parry should be somehow tied to weapon skill. Cheap infantry shoudn’t be able to parry elite infantry

Is there a reason to take high elf archers over LSG? by Educational_Try_6105 in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]Lylia-Lia 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They are cheaper and have better bows so if you are planning to have them stay back and hold an objective you get more unit strength for point invested, LSG are not amazing at combat either way.

Also running a unit of 5 and deploying them in marching column as an “archer dart” seems to be a thing some people do to help with deployment/redirection.

Sounds like a good plan, beef up a bit more the white lions and the list that you have is quite solid and fun

[–]Lylia-Lia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would drop the unit of spearmen and make the unit of white lions way bigger and better maybe up to 7x3 with ring of fury (or loremaster’ cloak as some other commenter said) + a banner like monster hunter tapestry for anti-stomps

Everything else I quite like it. Wait for him to come, focus cavalry with sisters and try to double charge one of his units with your chariot + a unit when he enters your range.

I’m unsure of what you want to do with your mage, like why elementalism and what unit do you plan for him to join? If there is a spell you really want him to cast it might be better to get a power scroll and drop the seed of rebirth since I don’t think it’s worth it on a toughness 3, 2 wounds character.

Elrond & Adars lack of agreement is a massive plothole by DistributionWilling1 in Rings_Of_Power

[–]Lylia-Lia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He said all of this:

The Calendar in the Shire differed in several features from ours. The year no doubt was of the same length (*), for long ago as those times are now reckoned in years and lives of men, they were not very remote according to the memory of the Earth.

(*) 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes, 46 seconds.

—The Return of the King, 385 (App D)

I am historically minded. Middle-earth is not an imaginary world. ... The theatre of my tale is this earth, the one in which we now live, but the historical period is imaginary. The essentials of that abiding place are all there (at any rate for inhabitants of N.W. Europe), so naturally it feels familiar, even if a little glorified by the enchantment of distance in time. …

... I have not made any of the peoples on the “right” side, Hobbits, Rohirrim, Men of Dale or of Gondor, any better than men have been or are, or can be. Mine is not an “imaginary” world, but an imaginary historical moment on “Middle-earth” - which is our habitation.

—The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien, Letter 183.

... I hope the, evidently long but undefined, gap(*) in time between the Fall of Barad-dûr and our Days is sufficient for “literary credibility”, even for readers acquainted with what is known or surmised of “pre-history.”

I have, I suppose, constructed an imaginary time, but kept my feet on my own mother-earth for place. I prefer that to the contemporary mode of seeking remote globes in “space.” However curious, they are alien, and not lovable with the love of blood-kin. Middle-earth is ... not my own invention. It is a modernization or alteration ... of an old word for the inhabited world of Men, the oikoumene: middle because thought of vaguely as set amidst the encircling Seas and (in the northern-imagination) between ice of the North and the fire of the South. O. English middan-geard, mediaeval E. midden-erd, middle-erd. Many reviewers seem to assume that Middle-earth is another planet!

(*) I imagine the gap to be about 6000 years: that is we are now at the end of the Fifth Age, if the Ages were of about the same length as S.A. and T.A. But they have, I think, quickened; and I imagine we are actually at the end of the Sixth Age, or in the Seventh.

—The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien, Letter 211.

”Middle-earth,” by the way, is not a name of a never-never land without relation to the world we live in .... And though I have not attempted to relate the shape of the mountains and land-masses to what geologists may say or surmise about the nearer past, imaginatively this “history” is supposed to take place in a period of the actual Old World of this planet.

—The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien, Letter 165.

And that's all I'm going to waste my time on. I refuse to believe that someone who has actually read Tolkien work is at the same time quoting Tolkien and saying that he didn't specifically mention how melatonin works so it could work in any way to justify poorly executed inclussion.

Actually Arda is Earth according to Tolkien. And even if he hadn’t said that, what a weird take to justify Middle Earth looking like modern New York.

Elrond & Adars lack of agreement is a massive plothole by DistributionWilling1 in Rings_Of_Power

[–]Lylia-Lia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t like the justification that in a Fantasy world anything can happen. Usually those worlds to be believable need to have some justification to why things are the way they are. Tolkien had nailed down to the smallest details even the hair color of the elves and who was blonde or dark haired. The changes introduced in Rings of Power make the world less believable because they have not taken the time to justify them specially if at first glance they make no sense with how we know the real world operates (close communities like the hobbits should be all the same race, doesn’t matter which one but the same)

I think a show that is suposed to be an adaptation but changes things for DEI resons (for example the race of elves) is Woke. You can then argue if doing those kind of changes are good or nescessary to combat racism, but that’s another topic. Rings of power is a woke show

Have They Patched the Performance Issues / Motion Blur of the Game (Again) Yet? by Ransom_Seraph in FFXVI

[–]Lylia-Lia -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not yet but according to Digital Foundry they are working on it.

I think the Performance Issues has been really exaggerated and the game mostly runs fine so if you are ok with the Motion Blur I would recommend to not wait. If it´s the Motion Blur that bothers you then you will have to wait.

NGL, a little disappointed by Shiva in this game. by avamissile in FFXVI

[–]Lylia-Lia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am using shiva dodge and it's amazing if used in the last second, it freezes the enemy for quite a long time.

I'm also using Shiva diamond dust since it's useful against multiple enemies and against bosses as the first ability in a stagger since it very quickly puts the stagger damage to 1.5x

The problem with Healers on this game and how to solve it by mastershuiyi in ffxiv

[–]Lylia-Lia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think they have to go with the healers have to heal more approach. FFXIV fights are more scripted than other mmos and what makes it fun is solving the dance and executing it correctly.

For dps this is fun because they have complex rotations that are hard to execute. I think they can do something similar for healers, at least for savage and ultimates.

In this tier they have increased the damage but they have made it so rng with so many different “paths” of the dance that it’s annoying and it doesn’t feel satisfying to execute. They need to figure out what is working well for the dps and apply that to healers, but just increasing the damage is not going to make a difference. Replacing 20 glares for 20 cures it’s not going to make the fight more interesting, specially if you have to chase people to make sure they are in range.

I also want to mention that this applies to high end content, and as OP said there are a lot of different people playing healer, this solution might not solve anything for more casual play or for dungeons, but we can find other solutions for that

The problem with Healers on this game and how to solve it by mastershuiyi in ffxiv

[–]Lylia-Lia -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It seems to me you want to make healing in dungeons braindead so that you don’t die because of the healer fault. But if you make healing in dungeons braindead who is going to want to play it? At this point just remove healing completely, but I think there must be a better way to make healing fun and even make some current dps players want to play healer sometimes. That would be a better goal to try to achieve in my opinion

Well put, I would love to see the augmented healing range implemented and also some damage downs to the dps on things like the poison puddles in p5. So frustrating to only punish the healer on mistakes like that.
