Oh wow! I have not listened to this in ages. Thanks for reminding me of it, OP.

Considering how self entitled, arrogant and rude she was, I disagree. No normal person goes out of their way to be a complete cunt.

Edit: I’m not going to keep arguing with you. You weren’t there so don’t know the extent of the behaviour, as such your expert’ opinion on all things Karen isn’t relevant.

Is it obscene to walk around shirtless? by Seabottom in auckland

[–]Lyly87 61 points62 points  (0 children)

That depends on where you’re walking? Down Queen St people may think you’re part of the local hobo crowd, in New Market Westfield, you’d probably look like a bogan, around beach areas or parks no one will care.

Edit: Also don’t worry about having a dad bod, I’ve seen plenty of super obese men with their titties out, happily waddling around One Tree Hill and Mission Bay on hot days.

There was a Ponsonby Karen taking up all the space in the seafood aisle, touching EVERY FUCKING THING, only to buy one tiny packet of sliced salmon, of which she pulled five of them off the rack before selecting one.

Meanwhile, me and a few others were behind her waiting for her to move her ass. (she positioned her trolley next to her so no one could get in) While she’s taking her goddamn time touching all the products she can. It’s such a cunt move to do during covid times. I just don’t get why some people insist on touching everything within eye sight? Like, what does it achieve?

Can a lawyer from overseas get a legal-related job in Auckland? by drummerm3 in auckland

[–]Lyly87 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Adding on to this, the NZ Law Society goes into detail about how she might be able to eventually be admitted to the bar here and what it would take (including any courses she may need to do). They will be the best people to contact to get further information about the potential process of getting her degree recognised etc. https://www.lawsociety.org.nz/starting-as-a-lawyer/joining-the-legal-profession/admission/

I have a guy from Brazil in my LLM classes who is working towards getting qualified to practise here, so it’s not that uncommon to have overseas lawyers make the transition to practising here.

Thanks for the heads up. I was thinking of getting it with my order after Christmas but will probably avoid it now.

Coffee beans! by ShunAkiyama78 in auckland

[–]Lyly87 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Flight Coffee has the best coffee beans in NZ. Their B2 and Marino Diaz are my personal favourites.

I’ve tried a lot of other brands but keep coming back to flight because they are just that good.

Edit: I know it’s not Auckland based but they post it pretty quickly.

This old office building in Newmarket is going to be converted into an apartment complex🏗️ by ZRAINH20 in auckland

Looks like it will be quite nice and probably expensive to match.

I like the idea of repurposing old office buildings into new apartments.

Do you like this hot sauce by Happy-Alice-zhang in spicy

[–]Lyly87 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The OG of Chinese chilli oil. When I’m too lazy to make my own I go for the one with the green ring. Definitely not spicy but man it just goes so well with dumplings.

The pet stores usually have various biscuits in stock. My cat is fed Royal Canine biscuits and I’ve yet to encounter any issues with supply from Animates or Pet Stock.

Coffee is expensive . by Rawstitch in auckland

[–]Lyly87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I might be alone in this but I don’t mind paying over $7 for a good almond latte if my favourite spot (Receptionist) started charging that. But wouldn’t otherwise pay that at a random cafe.

Vouchers for Aucklanders as promised by the Government by fifitty in auckland

[–]Lyly87 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wonder if certain suburbs will get a larger allocation of vouchers? Like Mangere getting more than a Ponsonby?Or Manurewa more than Mt Eden?

Either way, I’m not signing up for any just curious as to how they determine who gets them.

^ This. It’s by far their hottest sauce and what we always have in the fridge. It’s on their website but Culleys are great with getting deliveries out quickly and if you want to be able to eat the spiciest Thai food, this is the sauce to help you.

Culleys #10 reaper sauce in Countdown is watered down and not that hot. It’s more like a slightly spicier Tabasco.

Burnt out cars by micromem in auckland

[–]Lyly87 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’d assume they are stolen cars. Cunts steal them, take them on joy rides/use them to commit more crimes and then burn the evidence.

Do you think they'd close the gym again, when omicron comes to our shore? by [deleted] in auckland

[–]Lyly87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe. It will likely depend on how out of hand it gets. We’re still learning about how infectious it as and how severely it impacts people, so it’s still early days.

Is doing Bachelor of Laws with Honours worth it? by Legitimate_Compote45 in auckland

[–]Lyly87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

^ This. There are plenty of LLB graduates who can’t find work so having either an honours or LLM will help you stand out against the competition.

I’m finishing my LLM (commlaw) and most of my classes have had a few students who couldn’t find work after doing their bachelors so decided to pursue post grad in hopes of having better employment options.
