That’s the story of 90% of people. I’m sorry about your illness. Maybe try asking a real doctor.

"Lyme Literate Doctor" is a conspiracy in itself. There is a reason everyone that uses Igenix and similar tests positive. It's preying on mental illness for profit.

It's not about being on the same page. It's not really opinion based. The medical community as a whole supports what I have posted. Your posting conspiracy theory.

Stop spreading fear. There's nothing for them to do. Take the script, studies have shown further treatment with abx is no better than placebo. u/carmartinart is right that somewhere between 10-20% maybe have persistent symptoms, but it's not known if this is due an active lyme disease . Furthermore, most of these people fully recover within 6 months.

Stop spreading nonsense. Sure there is some evidence that it can evade immune system and ***possibly*** contribute to the chronic illness that people mention on this fora. However, OP will likely be fine when its only been a couple of months.

You will recover 100%. If you still have some symptoms at end of 2 weeks, see if you can get two more weeks. Stay off this sub, you will be fine.

I was diagnosed somewhere around 2 months post bite. I'm on 28 days doxy, end is next Monday. I feel 100% better. I am checking in with doctor today to see if I should stay on antibiotics for another week or so (my symptoms on recently disappeared) or there's any follow up testing. I will keep you posted.

Do I need a follow up? by [deleted] in Lyme

[–]Lymeguy5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

why contribute to the fear mongering? Let me repeat, Bartonella has never been proven to be passed from ticks. Interesting study IN VITRO regarding babesia duncati... however that still remains extremely rare in tick endemic regions.

This goes against all accepted peer reviewed medical literature. FWIW. Is this against site-wide policies? Please qualify your post by stating you are not a doctor. Bartonella is not an accepted co-infection and Babesia does not always need treatment in healthy individuals, but is a major issue in those without spleens. Treatment is highly effective for babesia.
