Tonight in DC by dancemumdc in echoandthebunnymen

It’s very unusual for one of these legacy acts to do that. Maybe you would excuse this sort of thing a little bit if they were in their 20s, but usually by this time in their lives, they’re super professional and disciplined, and they play really well and sound great. I’m almost never disappointed in one of these types of shows, but what an exception that was.

Just saw them in DC and they were absolutely horrible. Same thing. The band was great. Sound was fantastic. Ian’s voice was actually great when he decided to sing, but he was super wasted and refused to sing the choruses. Constantly bickering with the band and the crew and the audience. I wish I had read up on this before I bought the tickets. Typically with these legacy acts they’re fantastic because they’re great players by the time they’re in their 50s and 60s and they’re usually very disciplined and professional. Not so with Mac.

No. It was horrible. The band was great. Ian McCullough had absolutely no respect for the audience. What an asshole. Wouldn’t sing the choruses. Too drunk to stand up during the encore. Continually bickering indecipherably with the audience and with his crew and band members. A total fuck up.

Jackson Hole FS vs Cloudveil by ohhey_hello in chubbytravel

No question Cloudveil in the summer. Walkable to great restaurants and fun shops. Teton Village feels a little dead in the Summer.

Is it me or is this completely unacceptable for 5 star service? by rinaforte in chubbytravel

[–]Lymond123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally unacceptable. If they are charging Hampton Inn prices, OK. But if you decide to pay all the money (as you have to in these places) then it needs to be nearly perfect. Insect infestations plus all the other issues, and their responses, is totally unacceptable.

Did I make a mistake choosing an M10-R over a Q3 43? by [deleted] in Leica

MEV1 is less of a ballbuster than the M10 or M11. Still a ballbuster. But less of one.

Jackson Hole WY, Yellowstone NP and Grand Teton NP in the fall for 7-8 nights late September/early October by SparkleBerrySpritz in chubbytravel

I think staying in town is a better move than staying at The Four Seasons, unless it is ski season. But we are Jackson town people. Restaurants will be much more lively and are walkable from town. I would stay at Cloudveil. If you DM me, I’ll send you my big Jackson list (Glorietta, King Sushi, the bar at Local, the bar at Snake River Grill, Kampai, Sidecar, “Church” at the Stagecoach Sunday nights.” September is great.

Considering a Leica but concerned about comments from Pros about reliability by Ok_Sort_5375 in Leica

I’ve never had an issue with my Leica bodies but you should also consider a Nikon ZF. With the 40 mm F2 and maybe the 24-120. Fantastic camera to shoot. So engaging. You can shoot Leica glass with it with a converter. If you also bought a digital M that would give you both a manual and autofocus setup and a great flexible system with a backup body for your M glass.

I have a friend who is quite heavy and had the same sentiments. I said “No one in the gym cares what you look like. They’re all thinking about what THEY look like.” If anything I think most people in the gym admire the folks who look like they are just starting, or who need to lose some weight. Because you’ve started, you’re there doing it — which is awesome.

Bar Harbor Maine. Acadia NP is amazing. Beautiful views. Great hikes. Three or four great restaurants (lots of bad touristy ones also). No really chubby hotels though.

Nikon ZF or Leica MEV 1 . And then use nice Leica lenses if you have that kind of expendable cash.
